Remarks
There are various good aspects of college. The admission process is very smooth. The form fill up in our year was in late January and after that, the Interview timeline was in April. But due to Covid-19, the interview was conducted in an online mode. After that, IIM Shillong released its first list of candidates and it was among the first colleges to do so. IIM Shillong happens to be one of the only institutes that believe in sustainable growth. In an ever-changing world, sustainable business practices are very important and I am proud that our institute has taken such strides in this regard.
Course Curriculum Overview
MBA is something that really changes your perception about life. Myself, from an engineering background, got a lot of exposure to the business world and I am really enjoying studying the various domains in business. The teachers and faculty here are highly qualified. Faculty: Student ratio is also very good. The exams were conducted right on the schedule that was provided to us at the start of the academic year. The teaching method is primarily a case study based on a lot of emphases given on peer learning.
Internships Opportunities
The highest stipend for summer internships was 3 lakhs for 2 months. A majority of the students went to the Consulting and Marketing Domain for top recruiters like ABG, ITC, Bain, Deloitte etc with a considerate number getting placed in DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Nomura for Finance roles.
Placement Experience
IIM Shillong is one of the top 7 IIMs in the country. The highest package of the batch 2020 was 48.5LPA with an average of approximately 18.76LPA. 100% of students have placed in Finals as well as the internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
The cost to study for the two years is a little over 20 lakhs. There is a Need-based scholarship scheme that is available for people who require financial assistance. Last year, a total amount upwards of 1 crore was given to students who need the scholarship.
Campus Life
The campus is very strategically located in the heart of Shillong with all facilities for leisurely activities. The sight of cherry blossoms right outside your window is something that cannot be traded for. In total, there are 17 clubs and committees responsible for conducting various activities. Ours is a student-run campus. The key aspect of our institute is that it believes in inclusivity and various interest groups supporting the same purpose. Our new campus has all state of the art amenities for sports. Since our year was online, the e-copy of the books were provided to us at the start of every semester.
