Remarks
I was selected in all of the new IIMs. So, I went through the placement reports of all these colleges. I also looked into the fee structure and finally decided to join IIM Raipur since I thought that the ROI would be better if i join IIM Raipur. Also, the foreign exchange program of IIM Raipur is very good. It moved to its beautiful campus back in 2018. The infrastructure is great. All these factors made me join IIM Raipur.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is a residential course comprising of two years. During the first year, students are exposed to basic concepts in the areas of marketing, finance, quantitative methods, operations and strategy through the core courses. These lay the foundations for all the functional areas of management and help students develop an intricate understanding about the different facets involved. In the second year, students choose from a range of electives to concentrate on functional areas of their interest. The areas offered at present are finance, operations, marketing, human resource, strategy, and general management.
Internships Opportunities
The summer internship is a part of the curriculum. Everyone manages to secure a paid summer internship in IIM Raipur. And if someone wants to apply off-campus, they can do that. For the batch of 2018-20, the highest stipend offered was 3.91Lakhs, the average was 88k.
Placement Experience
Placement is the most important aspect of any college. IIM Raipur achieves year 100% placement with a decent average package. There were 150+ recruiters for the batch of 2018-20 with 50+ new recruiters. The average package offered was 15.2 LPA, the median salary was 14.78 LPA, with the highest package reaching 46LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The overall fee is 1420400/-. The college has tie-ups with different banks to help students with financial assistance. They can avail loans at low interest from these banks. But the institution does not bear any financial or other obligation connected with the loan either t0 the bank or to the student.
Campus Life
Although, it is a residential course being from the 2020-22 batch, we are not being able to explore our campus yet. But we are hopeful to be called in the second year. We are trying our best to make the most out of it. We have different clubs and committees. Being a part of these clubs and committees do not only add cv point but also you get to enhance your network.
Hostel Facilities
IIM Raipur has a total of five hostels as of now. We have a common mess for both boys and girls. Hostel life is the best part as I have heard from our seniors. The food is good. Rooms are equipped with a cooling system and have attached bathrooms.
Interview Experience
IIM Raipur is part of CAP and accepts only CAT score. It consists of two processes, firstly, shortlisting of candidates for WAT and PI, followed by final selection on the basis of the composite score. If one has a work ex then it helps to score more. A student must follow the news regularly. Freshers are mostly asked questions from their graduation subjects and current affairs and work-ex candidates are asked mostly on their experience. But one should be ready with everything. And the topic for WAT can be anything under the sun.
