Remarks

One of the top 7 IIMs with a huge potential for growth. The admission process includes CD & PI. Final placement: Highest package of 48.5 PA & Average of 18076 LPA. SIP- Highest-3 lakhs for 2 months. Majority of students placed in consulting & marketing domain. Literally the campus in clouds. Professors are truly dedicated.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is very well structured. Even in online mode, the professors were very dedicated during each course. Mandatory 85% attendance in each subject. Case studies are very often discussed in classes.

Internships Opportunities

SIP has been offered in the consulting, marketing & finance domain by various top organizations such as Deloitte, Pepsico, BCN, EY, Tata group, Google, Microsoft, ABinBev, Pidilite, DE Shaw, Nomura, UHG, Amazon, Mahindra, Aditya Birla, Godrej, ITC, Goldman Sachs. 100% of placements have been recorded each year.

Placement Experience

Evergrowing placement records are one of the reasons that IIM Shillong is one of the top 7 IIMs. Record placements can be accessed from the placement report published at the year-end. The packages and the roles offered are among the best. Until now, SIP has recorded the highest package of 3 lakhs for 2 months and 48.5 LPA for final placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees: - About 20 Lakhs for two years. The above includes tuition fees, library, computing facilities, licenses, health insurance, electricity, software license fees, hostel, and mess charges. Need-based financial assistance is provided by the institute for those with annual income less than 6 lakhs.

Campus Life

Due to unprecedented times, I haven't been to the campus, but the campus is one of the most iconic IIMs. Even in online mode, it feels like a family. Soon we will shift to the new campus of IIM Shillong which has even more facilities.

Interview Experience

3.5

Once the candidate is shortlisted for GD & PI based on the CAT percentile, he/she needs to fill the data form, and post scrutiny, the candidate receives a call letter. Generally, Case discussion took place, but due to covid, we had only online PI. The interview lasted for about 45 minutes. Prepare all aspects that you mention in the data form.

Placement Experience:

The placement process if two fold, with first one commencing in the first year for summer internships. And after the first year you either get PPO or you go for the final placements. 98-99% of the batch gets places, with some of them opting out the placements.

I choose the course because after hotel management i was looking for an online MBA and fortunalely i met with some one in my friend and he suggested me to do the same. Faculty was good. But no online or any classes. Timings of the term exams were good.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good enough but the statistics don't paint the whole picture and they somewhat hide the whole picture. The highest package was around 32 lakhs per annum and the average was around 16-17 Lakhs per annum. Around 95% of students get placed quite easily.

The institute offers ample placement opportunities and offers 100% placement to the students. The highest package in 2020 was 48.5 LPA, with the average package around 18.76 lakh rupees per annum. Companies like ABG, ITC, Bain, Deloitte, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Nomura participated in the placement process.

IIM Shillong Review

I cleared the CAT and applied for all the IIM'S including CAP which Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Calcutta. Lucknow, Kozhikode, Shillong, and all the 10 IIM's which come under CAP and also the 4 baby IIM's and out of the colleges mentioned I was able to clear Shillong all the Cap's and the baby IIM'S and the reason for joining Shillong were many and to name a few A better Alum Base. Better Placements. College was older. The reputation of the college. Tackling with the Alumnis. I had the SC Quota through which I got the required admission and they check. The admission criteria was a Case Bases GD and also in addition there is no such thing as minimum marks as the admission process has a very big weightage given to the interview so there is no lower limit to the marks you would have to enter the college. The process was fairly smooth and the counseling day was fairly quick and you had to submit the required documents which included the 10th 12th and the undergraduate mark sheets....Read More
