Remarks
I decided to opt for this college because of its review, reputation, and fees. The ROI I am getting from this college is pretty good. As the fee is not that high when compared to other colleges and at 82 percentile it is a decent choice. I received my offer letter in March 2019. And the session begins on 14 June 2019. I filled another college of this tier and got selected in other too such as GIM (BDA), FORE, WELINGKAR, BITS PILANI and others. But when every possibility was compared such as Fees, distance, facilities, infrastructure Nirma was the best choice. One of the other good reason to join NIRMA is that it will provide you scholarship according to your performance in interview and previous grades. I received a scholarship of around 1 lakh in my MBA.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is good it consists of latest books and syllabus. Faculties are very supportive and very good if the student is facing any problem in studies or in any other aspect they pay full attention to them. The faculties have great knowledge and they make class interactive so that everyone is equally involved and learn the practical aspect of the subject. Every student assigns one mentor too but they didn't help much if you don't share any problem from your side. Overall it's good.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, summer internships have been offered on the campus but mostly the stipend is low. There are one or two companies like J P Morgan which gave above 30k stipend otherwise the stipend scale lies around 5k or even nil.
Placement Experience
Yes, there is a good opportunity for placements, it mainly starts in September or in your fourth semesters. The average placement is around 8 lakh PA. The placement is good for Finance, Marketing, and Operations.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is the best part of Nirma. It gives you best ROI when you compared the colleges in the same range. The fee for two years is around 9.5 lakh and if you include hostel it will increase and cost you around 12 lakh for two years. I had AC rooms and best facilities still my whole MBA cost me around 12 lakh. If you choose other facility rooms (General) overall cost will be less. The average placement is 8 lakh and I received placement of 10 lakh PA. Plus the college provide scholarship depends on your interview and past grades. If you are in top 30 from the whole batch you will receive 50k scholarship in first and year and if you are able to maintain grades in second year as well you will receive another scholarship of 50k a total of 1 lakh scholarship. There are other scholarship too that depends on financial condition and merit.
Campus Life
It is a student driven colleges start from the fest to placements all are mainly handled by students, there are total 26 clubs & committees are there. And events are happening every week to make college life fun. As a student you are going to learn how to manage studies, events, club's work & assignments all at the same time. The life will became hectic but its all worth it. There are many extra curricular activities happening in the college, also there is a huge scope for sports.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are great there are many options available like general, AC or without AC. I had AC room with twin sharing. There are laundry facilities were available, proper cleaning and all other facilities. But there was one major issues of network. You are not getting Wi-fi but will get LAN facility. The issue occur with mobile network as more networks are not having strong connection there.
Interview Experience
The admission process includes TDP-PI. In TDP you will be getting on topic and you have to speak on that its like an extempore which will be followed by Personal Interview. The TDP contains general topics, my topic was transportation. And other topics were like Spirituality, Social Media, and others. The personal interview mainly involves questions like Introduce yourself, why MBA, which specialization you are looking into and its reason, what you studies in your grad and questions related to them. If you have work ex then questions will be asked from them. Make sure you give honest answers and prepare well for it because you might get scholarship based on it.
