Chaitanya Engineering College Visakhapatnam, B.Tech {Hons.}, Electronics and Communication Engineering
Reviewed on Oct 6, 2016

Remarks

The college is placed in a beautiful chaitanya valley , it was far from pollution and very peaceful the faculty were friendly, helpful though management was vexing at times but they were successful in providing campus placements to the eligible students irrespective of the academics my college experience was best in terms of all extra curricular activities all the review comments provided above are based on my experience at the college 7 years back things change with time and now the college is enriched with funds and bolstered up from what i heard.

Entrance Preview

I gave EAMCET exam , secured a rank of 15000 in 2005 and opted this college. I opted this college as I wanted to get into ECE branch. This was the best choice among different colleges that offered this branch.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curriculum was given by JNTU kakinada the course structure was well organized, focusing on all the areas that are of importance to an Electronics and communication engineer we had option to choose electives from 3rd year , but we were forced to chose particular subjects as faculty availability in the college was minimum back then.

Internships Opportunities

There was no internship or stipend as such. The college used to suffer paying salaries to the faculty members back then. I still remember how the faculty members used to moan about the irregular salary payments about the management , So internship or stipend was out of scope. But now i heard things have changed, not sure of stipends though.

Placement Experience

4

This was one of the best features of this college. in 2009 we were sent to pool campus interviews for infosys , sonata . Many other small companies interviews were also scheduled. Many of my friends got placed in infosys , sonata . I myself got placed in a small company called winning streak solutions(offer letter is still due. But the management really cares about the placements and took care that all of the eligible students were placed in small or big companies.

College Events

3.5

We conducted an event eclectic 2k8 and 2k9 . That was a technical/cultural symposium where we are exposed to different managerial aspects of event organizing , complete freedom was given to students to organize the events we had a great cultural fest organized by college as an annual event of the college every year. Had a great time participating and cheering for the students, event organizing and cultural fest were one of the best aspects of the college.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fees structure was governement decided back then , we had a fees of 22000(tuition )+6000(college fund) for all the four years. There were no scholarship or loan facility from college side to any of the students. Normal study loans were availed by many of my friends, but college was very particular in fees structure and deadlines in payment of fees. Students were continuously inquired about the fees payment and unnecessary drama was created.

Fees and Financial Aid

There were no scholarship or loan facility from college side to any of the students. Normal study loans were availed by many of my friends , but college was very particular in fees structure and deadlines in payment of fees. All the scholarship facilities were provided by government then, thanks to YSR and his poor friendly ideals.

Campus Life

3.5

Gender ratio was bit balanced in ECE group compared to other groups campus life was excellent , The college is placed in a scenic atmosphere in a valley surrounded by nice mango orchards, special mention to aesthetic saraswathi idol placed in middle of a beautiful lawn labs were adequate , Competitions were held on student initiatives we had a robotics event thanks to our knowledge yearning friends there is no intolerance shown to any particular sect or group of students. Sports were encouraged , we had a nice volleyball court, cricket ground all indoor games the sports department was always helpful in organizing our own tournaments in the college ground.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The college is placed in a beautiful chaitanya valley, it was far from pollution and very peaceful. But the other side of story is it was far from basic amenities. I have joined in initial phases of college so the infrastructure was not that developed,Hostel and mess were pretty bad in first two years(Mess was a small hut) , but later in 3rd and 4th years the college has shown considerable improvement in the infrastructure.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors were very helpful in those days ragging was still prevalent that helped us to have a great interaction with seniors i am still in contact with many of them their experience and advice was always helpful during college days and even after that.

Exam Structure

Exams and labs were according to curriculum of JNTU kakinada .That was the first time we were introduced to online mid exams which created great ambiguity in initial phases but later on we got a hang of it. The exams were strictly conducted well monitored . Labs were good enough, though not sophisticated , the labs were conducted by well trained lab assistants and faculty were very helpful.

Admission

In 2005 AP government used to conduct EAMCET counseling in a segregated manner there were three rounds of counseling in which we were given an option to choose our favorite branch and college. At the end of third counseling I am able to secure a seat in ECE branch of Chaitanya Engineering college.

Faculty

2.5

I did my btech in 2005-2009 batch, faculty section of the college was not effective in that period apart from few like sridhar sir(EMWTL&TV), indira madam(maths), VLSI faculty .Some subjects didn't have a qualified faculty so we students took turns to give demos and complete a subject. But 2009 is around 7 years back , from what I have heard things have changed and faculty is cogent now.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chose mechanical (robotics). As they euipped with new equipment's of robotics I have inspired a lot and chose to go with this course. This course helps to understand the mechanical engineering an also robotics. It helps us to understand about the mechanism in hardware. It helps to understand about robot infrastructure and about drones. For this course if there is more depth in robotics subjects than it can better. The frequency and timing is good as they maintain a certain period of time gap between the exams and the difficulty level is also good. If studied for a week we can understand up to some level and have a chance to pass the exams.
