Experience of college life

It is a college of Raju community which is very much powerful in Bangalore. As this college belongs to a community trustee this do not get attention like a personal owner's college.But after the college management is changed in 2014 we have seen some positive changes from infrastructure to beautification.

I wrote the easiest engineering entrance examination of India, COMED-K. I got 96 out of 180 and secured 4493 rank. MVIT is the best college for this range of rank if you want to opt for a good branch. I was getting telecommunication in M S Ramaih and EEE in BIT but my main focus was on CSE or ISE. But I was not getting CSE in MVIT also so I decided to go for ECE. I didn't take ISE, most probably that was the worst decision of my life.

The college is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. The university decides the course curriculum. They change it every 4 years according to industry needs. The syllabus is very much student friendly. You will not face any problem if you study every subject only for 5 days. As it is an engineering course they don't focus much on research rather than they focus on memorizing things.

Yes, the college provides internships in companies like Amazon, Cerner, Dell, Robert Bosch, Kirusa etc,. They provide handsome stipend also ranging from 20-30k per month. But there is a twist. Only CSE & ISE people are allowed to join the internship. I told you other branches are only concerned about attendance.

This college is famous for this reason only. All credit goes to Prof S. H Khan. See first on all some mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Cognizant, L&T, Mindtree, Aricent (any 4-5 companies) will come for all branches. They provide minimum 600-700 offers. If you are from ECE, Telecom ,EEE branches then you have some core opportunities like Robert Bosch, Anite Telecom etc and some high package companies. Not every year but most of the the years civil core companies like NCC Urban, Shapoorji Paloonji come. but if you are from CSE ISE there are endless opportunities from Amazon, Dell, Sprinkler, ZS Associates, Mahattan salary upto 16LPA. If you have good programming knowledge you will get handsome package. Finally I can say if you have 60% throughout your academics and if you can speak well you'll be placed.

The main event is Kalanjani,the annual college fest. We have Verve, Farewell day, Freshers Day, Ethnic day, individual college fests etc. But nothing is as good as compared to other colleges in Bangalore. The main problem is they don't allow any corporate sponsors. So with a small budget it is very much difficult to organize a good fest.

Tution Fees: For CET students: Approx 40k per year, For COMED-K & Management quota students: 1.5 Lpa, Donation for Management quota: CSE ECE Mech 7-8 L, ISE EEE Telecom Civil 4-5 L, Biotech IEM 1-2 L The tution fee is no doubt so much high as compared to other state engineering colleges but lowest among Bangalore good Engineering colleges.

Karnataka Government provides some scholarship to CET students. College provide cash prizes for university rank holders. MVIT does not provide any direct loan facility but they will help you to get educational loan.

Campus life is not that much happening because of high attendance pressure of some branches. The gender ratio is approximately 70:30( Boys: Girls). Party culture is not that much common here. Workshops are conducted frequently. There are so many cultural clubs . Student diversity is not that much good. Students are from every state of India but mainly from Bihar, Jharkhand and Karnataka itself. This college is very much tolerant regarding to any respect. Politics doesn't exist here.

Now this is the best part of this college. You will get double or triple sharing rooms with attached or common toilet.you will get hot water, room cleaning service, paid internet, 24/7 water, electricity, dhobi etc. You will get hygienic food 4 times a day. Hostel facility is available for all students. The hostel fee is also reasonable from 60-70 k per year.

Alumni network is not that much active here. But seniors are very much helpful. They maintain a cordial relationship with the juniors. They will help you in all aspect from academics to extracurricular.

Exam here is semester wise. June and December is the exam month. You'll get one month of vacation after that. College will conduct 3 internal tests. Best of 2 will be considered. There are no class tests. Normal day is hectic if you are not from CSE ISE. You have to attend lectures daily, labs twice a week.

Normally the form notification comes on November or December. You have to fill the form online and have to send the form with supportive documents to COMED-K centre. After the rank list is published you have to go for the counseling. There will be 2 rounds of counseling . it is a very much systematic process. You will not face any difficulties.

Here I have to divide the entire college faculty into 2 parts. CSE ISE faculties are very much student friendly. They dont care about attendance. So you'll get ample time to learn something new, spend time for your hobby, hanging out with friends. They will help you when you need them. you will feel you are actually in college. On the other hand ECE, Mech faculties are exactly opposite. The only thing they care is attendance. So your entire engineering life is attending boring lectures. you will see dirty politics everywhere. They will throw you in trouble knowingly. life is very difficult here. There were some good faculties here but they could not survive here.
