Aditya's Review On Poornima College Of Engineering, Jaipur

The vision of the director is quite impressive and clear but due to some rotten eggs as I told earliest my college can't make it up to national wise top colleges. I would like to see my college there ASAP.

AIEEE. It was 2012 and I can't make it to IITs or NITs. I came here due to the positive reviews and comparatively less fee. At the end of the day I knew that being an engineer in India from any top notch private college which would cost you 1.5 millions bucks is same as being one from a simple yet decent college. At the end you have to work in the same Infosys, TCS (eliminating exceptions).

The course curriculum of RTU is one of the worst amongst rotten Indian Engineering Curriculum. The research part is something that is in paper only and the course is no more a technician course. Instead, it is something where have to do "rattafication" for getting marks. Still my college did something like PEEM classes, every week online exam, mentorship classes and projects from 1st year itself. These initiatives from them are highly appreciable. Still improvement is needed.

The internship provided by college is not good. Very few companies came for providing internship. You have to manage it from your own contacts.

I got placed in 2 companies and have to give interview in System as well. So I would like to appreciate the TPO. Infosys and Capgemini were the mass recruiters.If your communication skill is good and you have some technical expertise then you can definitely get a placement from Poornima. Still they need to improve.

Cultural events were rare. We were given a welcome by our seniors followed by freshers party. But I'm not sure about these days. The main fest is Aarohan Poornima which is 4-5 day fest. It includes sports,arts, technology and cultural events. But I could never connect myself from that. It needs some improvement. Cultural programs should be given priority so as to get maximum interest. Other fest like Program, Aayojan etc.. was also there which were from exhibition of projects.

This is something which I like a lot when it comes to my college. The fee structure is feasible at best. I have to pay only Rs 63k for one year and I was getting facilities which other colleges are giving for additional 40k more. I got my placement too. So overall the fee is something which is feasible in every college of RTU.

There is no any scholarship or loan provided by college itself as far as I know. But many of my friends got scholarship from government. Some of them got complete fee but from government.

If you are in Poornima then there is nothing enthusiastic in campus life. Although gender ratio is good. But the so called discipline wouldn't allow you to organise any party. Neither any self organised cultural activityvis allowed. We couldn't even give farewell party to our seniors.

Hostel facilities are also very good when it comes to food, security and space. But playground is missing. The rules are as such you would want to leave the hostel if you are in first year. The mentorship classes for first year student also sucks sometimes. The food is awesome. It has variety and hygienic as well.

There is an alumni network. Alumni meet is also conducted. But very few of them coukd make it because there is no any proper way in our college in which alumni can be connected to the college. We never had any interaction with any alumni.

There was weekly objective type online exam. Thenafter there were two mid term internal exams which includes both lab and theory papers. Following 2nd mid term there was university lab exam and after one week preparatory leave the final university papers. So summing them all life becomes hell due to these hectic schedule and intense pressure. This is also due to one university rule where if unfortunately you would get a backlog and it remains there after reevaluation of paper then you have no option other than waiting till next year.

I got my admission by applying online through rtu counseling website. I forgot the steps. One of cousin did that all. I was just giving him the stats. After results I came here and filled all that formalities. The admission process was quite simple.

I would like to give 4/10 for faculties. Few of them were good. They always tried to give something to students. But rest are worthless. They are securing their job by flattering and buttering. They are playing politics in college. If these rotten people are ejected out from our college then our college can be ranked among top private colleges.
