My college experience

Being one of the top 7 IIMs in the country it is also very well known as "The Campus in Clouds". Right now we are in the Mayurbhanj, which is a beautiful palace and looks extremely pretty during cherry blossoms' season. We would be shifting to the new campus this year which will be more spacious with more infrastructural advancement and amenities.

Most of the professors are very helpful and qualified but, the online mode and the recent covid scenario caused hindrance in-class study and peer learning attributes that constitute a major part of business studies. A minimum of 85% attendance is mandatory for 7-8 subjects for each term. 1 credit is awarded for a subject that constitutes 20 sessions.

The Summer internship was based on profile shortlist for some of the companies while others took aptitude and preliminary test to judge the candidate's relevance for the role along with the CV shortlisting. There were companies like ABG, Deloitte, Nomura, DE Shaw, Goldman Sachs, Mahindra, Bain, ITC, etc who took a significant number of students.

The Highest package of the batch in 2020 was 48.5 LPA with an average of about 18.75 LPA. 100% of student were placed during the summer internship as well as the finals. The highest stipend for summers was 3L for two months. A majority of students are from consulting and marketing domain.

The fees for the course is approximately 20L which is a bit too much considering that our first year of the course was held through an online medium. Apart from that, the fees structure doesn't include the proceeding for study abroad program. The fees are to pay for each of the 6 terms before its commencement.

Although we have not been to the campus the campus has amenities for various sports such as basketball court, volleyball area, etc. During leisure time, you can see students on the campus engaging in various indoor and outdoor sports. We have an LBGTQ+ social group known as the rainbow alliance apart. Nurturing Minds is another initiative by students to take up weekend activities in association with NGOs.

We have three wings with single, double and triple sharing facilities. All the room are equipped with basic amenities such as bed, pillow, cabinet, chair and table for each student. Other than this, each student can carry anything that is of their use. The Mess menu is rolling with a set menu each week.

We had a case discussion followed by a personal interview round. We were given a case which encompasses the relocation of a company's headquarters and what changes and decision would turn beneficial for that company. For Personal interview, there were two panellists. To prepare for this, I focused mainly on the educational background as it was highlighted through my projects.
