Remarks

Admission process: GD, PI. Faculty are good and supportive, placement and batch strength is good, location. Pros: this one of the best tier 2 college as compared to another tier 2 colleges. I think MICA is only better than GIM when it comes to tier 2 colleges.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The student: faculty ratio is 6:1. All the faculties are PHD or they are from top IIMs. Their teaching method is really helpful. All the exams were conducted on time, due to covid-19 session got delayed so in the beginning things were a little difficult.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

Companies ranging from finance, marketing to operations, all these visit our campus and provide internship opportunities. After sem 3, for 2 months- April and May, there is no class, students have to do an internship. In current scenario its WFH but in general we need to go to the company office.

Placement Experience

4

As soon as you enter the campus, just 1.5 months later, summer placements will start. Many companies come for summers. For final placement, it starts once you get to 2nd year. Placement is 100% so no need to worry about that.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee is 16 lakh + 1.44 lakh (hostel). There is an SBI bank near college from where students can take education loan. The college will provide all documents needed for the loan.

Campus Life

4

Campus life is really great. You are in GOA so I don't think I have to give a description of outside life. It's awesome. There are 26 clubs and campus is spread over 50 acres so there is ample space for any sports.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facility is good. Quality of food is good. We have a club which takes care of the quality of food. So there is no compromise with food quality. Room is 2 sharing and accommodation is really good, rooms are cleaned daily.

Interview Experience

3.5

Yes, there was group discussion first followed by personal interview. GD topics may vary from current affairs to some random topics for example, "sky is blue" Sit in front of the mirror and try to talk to urself.

In the first year, students are eligible for summer internship placements from the first term onwards. Decent number of companies visit the campus and offer roles across various domains. The placement committee provides good placement support.

Placement Experience:

The placement record has been 100% for years now. The SIP process begins in the first year and final placement process starts in the early-middle of second year. The highest package went upto 55 Lacs last year, lowest was around 12 Lacs. I plan to take direct placement from the college and start my corporate career.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is very good and faculties are also very qualified. I choose BDA because of its value in the market and my interest area. BDA of GIM is even beating it's flagship course in terms of placements. But the thing is you have to come prepared before coming to B-School. In term-1, there will be basic subjects only but companies coming for summer internship will expect more from you. So, my advice would be to invest the time students get in between admission in B-School and joining the B-School in improving their skills sets.

It is one of the best colleges in Tier 2 colleges. But being a tier 2 college also some cons. Study and analyse every aspect of a college before deciding on anything.

Goa university department of management and studies is very good college for the student who was polish there knowledge through help of faculties who are expertise in there own field. It definitely help to grain more knowledge and improvements of skill but only major thing issue is of placement. There has been not proper placement over the years which should be given priority and introduction of new companies for placement should be brought. Also campus should be focused more and should be improve to some extent.
