My college experience

LBSIM is fairly a good college when compared to its peers. It offers a well rounded PGDM curriculum which is up to date with the demand of the industry. Apart from the curriculum, it offers good ROI. The admission process includes shortlisting based on CAT score after that there would be a GD and PI round after which final selected students are offered provisional admission letter.

The course curriculum is very vast designed to keep the student's industry ready and updated with the latest trends. I chose to do PGDM Finance from LBSIM because its best for the finance enthusiasts who could not join tier 1 college. Faculty here is top-notch and very well educated. Institute also appoints visiting faculty to teach specialised subjects. Every term institute takes 2 exams to end terms and midterms along with continuous class evaluation on the basis of projects assignments and presentations.

College gets good placement opportunities for students many students get their PPO in the internship only and some companies start coming to campus after 4th trimester only. Approximately over 100 companies visit our campus for placements and college has a track record of 100% placements. Companies like Asian Paints KPMG Deloitte EY Bain Marico Britania and many more comes to campus.

College offers scholarships on merits and financial status as well. So as to assist financially weak meritorious students to complete their education and lead a respectful life. I being a first-year student have got an internship in finance profile with 12000 stipends and standing PPO based on my performance.

Campus life at LBSIM is worth living. Institute has so many academic and non-academic clubs which are totally student-driven and there is a cultural committee which looks after every fun activities to be organised in the college from freshers to farewell and many more things. The college has a huge library with over 10,000 books and also there is a Bloomberg lab with 12 terminals to get updates about the financial world. Classrooms are well lit and air-conditioned with facilities like projector screen for teaching and presentation purposes.

GD’s are conducted in a group of 10-12 participants with the topics on current affairs, abstract topics and sometimes open-ended topics too. I prepared for GD by reading newspapers by heart and going through editorial section twice and writing down the facts figures and no. associated with any particular news of business and economics which not only helps in GD but also PI revolves around your resume and current affairs only.
