B.Tech Biotechnology pass out from IMS Engineering College

Connectivity: IMS Engineering college has good connectivity. The nearest metro station is Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Stand) Ghaziabad. Infrastructure: It has very good infrastructure. The library has ample resources in the form of books and research journals. Wi-fi is available across the campus. The labs are well equipped. There are four hostels on campus. The ground is also very big. Faculty: Faculty is the biggest strength of the college. The faculty is not only knowledgeable but also share a very good connection with the students. Students can easily share their problems (both academic and personal) with the faculty members. Each student is assigned a counsellor so that he/she may talk to them regarding any issue that they face. Placement: College offers good placement. The average salary is around 5-7 LPA. Many cultural and sports events are conducted from time to time for building up the extracurricular skills of students. Overall a good college for up-scaling personal and academic skills.

I have an avid interest in biotechnology as this is the most upcoming field and offers a lot of career opportunities not only in India but also abroad. The faculty: student ratio is good. The faculty is the biggest strength. Department of Biotechnology has well-qualified faculty. Almost all are PhDs and have a lot of teaching experience. They not only help the student grow academically but also are dedicated to enhancing their personality. We always felt free to discuss doubts with them. Exams: There are three exams in the semester (internal theory assessment). According to my, the papers have a moderate difficulty level.

Although primarily the curriculum demands that there should be an internship in an industrial set-up only but the college also supports students in getting good internships. They also conduct multiple training projects on the campus, especially I am very much satisfied with my course.

students are eligible for placements from the 7th semester. For biotechnology, placements are very good. The offers are both in core and non-core companies. College prepares us well for the placements with lots of GDs and mock interviews. 90% of students of my batch got placed.

The fee structure is as per the university norms. On average almost 6Lakhs are required for the entire course. The best thing about college is that the college does not take any donations. There are complete transparency and no bribes, whatsoever. For students whose parents have very less income, samaj kalyan fellowship may be availed. You may easily get loan for education for this college.

Two fests happen on campus. One is Technovation - It is an awesome platform for students to showcase their technical skills by developing a working model of a project. Apart from Technovation, every department organises its own techno-cultural events like biotechnology department has two such fests called Bio-breeze and Bio-fiesta! The college has its biggest cultural fest that lasts for 2-3 days called VIBGYOR. It is again a wonderful opportunity for students to showcase their talents. The fashion show and celebrity night are the most famous events of this cultural fest. There is a huge celebration around Diwali, it called Diwali night. We loved it as students.

I opted for a girls hostel, two-seaters facility. It is a big hostel, the warden is good, wi-fi is available. There is a lot of greenery in the hostel. Bathrooms are ample. they are cleaned regularly. there is a gym available inside the hostel. the dining area is large. food quality is good too. There is no issue with the water supply or electricity. It is highly safe and within walkable distance from various academic blocks.

An exam was being conducted, both written and oral. The written exam had both MCQs and short answer type questions. Upon qualification of that exam, questions were asked orally about the specific knowledge in biotechnology, cloning, the reason for choosing this course and future plans. I had thoroughly studied my school books. The Biotechnology chapter in Biology helped me a lot in cracking this interview.
