A first years perspective of LBSIM

LBSIM is a premier B-School and rightly so the faculty are all PhD holders and experts in their domains, the curriculum is industry relevant and updated Yearly. The Corporate Interface sessions provide a healthy dose of industry relevant corporate exposure & trends information for the students. The Institute has a healthy student-teacher ratio of 6:1. The opportunities are immense for students to develop their management capabilities and skills through various clubs & societies. The Bloomberg lab and The IBM Data Analytics lab are very resourceful in providing practical exposure. The institute carries forward the ethical values of Lal Bahadur Shastri Ji.

I chose PGDM(Finance) as its a specialized course in Finance consisting of general management mixed with core finance. The Bloomberg lab helps in providing practical exposure to real markets. The specializations are industry specific and therefore I chose this course.

The institute has a summer internship program of 2 months after the first year (May-June) for which various reputed names from FMCG, Research & Consultancy, Finance, BFSI, IT/ITES visit the campus to provide internship opportunities to the students. Students get an experience of corporate culture and gain learnings for practical application of concepts learnt.

The average CTC is 9 LPA with the highest package of 21 Lakhs. The institute has good relations with the corporate for placement and internship opportunities. The institute is visited by reputed names from Research& Consultancy, Finance, FMCG, IT /ITES and BFSI sectors

The institute has a scholarship program in which people can avail of the fee is competitive and promises a good ROI. The hostel rates and fees are also reasonable for outstation students. The institute is also covered under SBI scholar plan helping students access the easy loan facility.

The Institute has a various event scheduled throughout the year. Tatva is the main intercollege Management and Cultural fest held in Jan mostly. Its preceded by Samarthya month where clubs and societies host competitions throughout the month for Finance, Analytics, Marketing among others. The institute also holds the prestigious Lalitha Shastri Debate Competition. The institute is run by students thereby providing opportunities for students to hone their skills in various cells in charge of interaction with corporate, alumni, other b schools and collaborating for various events among others

The Institute has taken covid precautions in opening the hostel for hybrid mode allotting each student a single room. The meals are included in the rent and are primarily north Indian veg. The rooms are well lit, AC rooms, furnished with table, almirahs and shelves. The hostel admin is run by students and all complaints and feedback's are acted upon.

The admission process consists of GD - WAT and PI. The faculty analyses students based on their technical knowledge from their grad subjects, verbal and written abilities. The process is handled by students who are very resourceful in gaining info about the institute, I would really recommend applicants to try and interact with seniors of the batch connect with them on LinkedIn or physically if rules & regulations permit.
