Remarks
I got admission to this college through centralised counselling by MPDTE in the 2nd Round. And I was not getting CSE at any IIT/NIT/IIIT so opted for SATI Vidisha. I had heard a lot about this college and the facilities provided here. It is also selected in the TEQIP scheme of the Government of India and the quality is also improving yearly.
Course Curriculum Overview
Quality of teaching depends on professor to professor, some taught as very well some are there just for the sake of teaching. Curriculum gets updated from time to time since it is an autonomous institute. But studying depends on students. It is their duty to study properly and learn by applying those concepts in projects or if it's a theoretical subject then solve many different-different types of problems in that subject to get a good grasp in such subjects. Faculty: Student ratio is fine, there are approx. 60 students in one batch. We have Tutor-Guardian (TG) system in our college so for every 20 students one faculty is assigned as TG to solve their issues, help and guide them. We have compulsory 2 Mid-Term tests and 1 END SEM exam for each semester. One can easily pass the exams with the little study but to get good marks one has to study seriously and properly. Exam papers from the second year are more application based and is a little difficult which is required for a good engineering college.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, many companies provide internship opportunities to 3rd year and final year students of SATI. Both off-campus and on-campus opportunities are available. Recently LIDO learning provided part-time learning opportunities to 2nd-year students and that too with a good monthly stipend.
Placement Experience
The quality of placements is not much good currently but its increasing yearly. A placement officer can try and invite a firm for recruitment once but making them come again depends on the calibre of students and arrangements(apart from current market conditions and requirements). In 2017, one student got a package of 20LPA but in the off-campus mode so the college cannot mention this in their placement brochure. 10 LPA is the highest on-campus offer made by LIDO learning during the 2019-20 placement session. TCS, Wipro, Capgemini, ACC, L&T infotech, LIDO, are some companies visited at SATI. The average package at SATI is greater than 4-LPA according to data available on SATI's website. Like most of the students at SATI, I am too planning to pursue M.tech. Recently one of our x-student of SATI got AIR-3 in GATE CS&IT. The placement scenario is going to be at par with top state government engineering colleges and NITs in upcoming years with increasing quality of students intake and other factors.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are less than any other private engineering college but greater than other state government autonomous engineering colleges. Fees are affordable. 70300 RS is total fees yearly excluding hostel fees. Keeping in mind about the students coming from rural and backward areas further fees hike has not done and is also regulated by MPDTE. Various scholarship schemes are available like the MMVY scheme of the Gov. of MP. OBC and SC/ST scholarship schemes. There are various other scholarship schemes offered by private companies, MNCs and by Alumni are available. Shrimant Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindhia Scholarship, Shrimant Madhav Rao Scindhia Scholarship are some scholarship given by the institute. Institute is also planning to work on strengthening the financial condition of students so that they can earn while studying and can pay their fees by themselves.
Campus Life
Lots of events, lots of fun, lots of fights between different group of students. There are many different clubs and activities in which students can engage in. There is one canteen/cafeteria on the campus. One can always check the different-different social media accounts of registered clubs of SATI to know more about their activities. FIAT, Udaan, Aaghaz, Flux, club 'O' E, Artbox, Rudras, Codians, SAE SATI, etc are different clubs and societies at SATI Vidisha. They have won many prizes in state and nation level competitions. Sports facilities at SATI is one of the best in state government engineering colleges. Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Tournament is organised every year by SATI which is a state level inter-state engineering colleges cricket tournament. The annual fest is known as Samrat Utsav and Satyarth-I is organised yearly. We have a central library where we get all our books.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities for boys are of the worst kind except for the unlimited high-speed Wi-Fi available 24*7. Girls hostels are good and safe also. I lived in the RNT hostel at SATI so sharing my experience- -No study environment is there in hostels. -Food is of worst quality and most of the time food quantity is also insufficient and the monthly bill is too much for such food. -Many times RO does not work and it takes much time for authorities to take any action. (But this thing is improved now) -Hostel infrastructure is too old and needs renovation. -Beds, tables, chairs and other things are of old types. -Huge friend circle in hostels which is a good thing. - Unlimited high speed 24*7 Wi-Fi facility which is actually present. - Authority will say that the TV room is available, TT room is available but the truth is yes they are available but will not work. -Daily newspapers in English and Hindi available to read. One can get better facilities at the same price outside the campus.
