Remarks

The course, location, convenience and obviously because it is a NIT. The course offered was something I wanted. It was located in Maharashtra and my home is also there so travelling back home was easy. I knew hindi and english which is prominent and made it convenient to communicate.

Course and curriculum wise it is backward and can be improved. It needs to be made upto date with current scenarios. Smart teaching is there but more experience teaching is needed. Faculties some are good but some are lazy.

Placement Experience

Architecture students do not have much campus placements as only 2-3 companies visit. However for engineering companies like L&T, Reliance, Godrej, Vedanta, pepsico etc come for placements. Around 70% students are placed. Many start ups have been there like cocreato, Prayaas etc.

College Events

Axis is technical fest which is central Asia's biggest technical fest. We have talks, seminars, workshops etc for this. Aarohi is the cultural fest. It had many competitions, stalls etc. Very nice way for students to mingle. Not limited to just VNIT students. Institute gathering is a department level competition. Here all departments compete for institude champion. It is a ten day even ranging from sports to dance to singing etc. Consortium is a buisness event where management related competions, seminars etc are held.

Campus Life

Good infrastructure. However books and information resources in Architecture is not sufficient compared to the students present. The campus is big and kept clean. A lot of building have been renovated too.

Hostel Facilities

Yes. For girls there are two hostels in campus. For boys there are 5-6 hostels in campus. Old girls hostel is however not taken cared enough. Main facilities like gym, reading room etc are available in the new hostel but old hostel students are not allowed to use it after in time. Common shared washrooms are there.

Hostel Fee: INR 64000 per year

Admission

The college takes admission on the basis of JEE MAINS and for NRI the SAT marks. I gave the SAT2 in 2014 and scored well enough to get into the college in the first round itself.

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

AS FOR PLACEMENT , TNP TRIES REALLY HARD TO GET STUDENT PLACED. MULTIPLE COMPANY VISIT THE CAMPUS. NAMELY INFOSYS, ACCENTURE, COGNIZANT, TCS, CAPEGEMINI, AMDOCS, HCL, TECH MAHINDRA, ETC MULTUPLE APTITUDE ASSESMENT AND CODING ASSESMENT ARE CONDUCTED BY COMPANIES. MANY STUDENT GET PLACED AT AVERAGE OF 4.5 . OFFER ARE LIKE 3LPA, 3,5LPA.4,5LPA, 7LPA, MAX 9LPA OR THIS YEAR BUT STILL IN MY OPNION STUDENT ARE NOT PUTTING ENOUGH EFFORT IN THEIR PLACEMENT DRIVES AND HAVE VERY CASUAL ATTITUDE. SO PERCENTAGE IS AROUND 40% AND I'LL NOT BLAME COLLEGE FOR THIS PERCENTAGE ATLEAST NOT TNP, CUZ FOR SOME REASON STUDENT ARE CLEARING FAILING HERE AS FOR ME I'M PLANNING FOR FURTHER STUDIES

My Experience at VNIT Nagpur

I had Applied to Vit pune and I am getting Ai and DS there but my dream was to get an NIT so I dropped my decision and can to VNIT. I did not get any rejection from there I just rejected that college over NIT.
