Remarks

The top reason for choosing this college is the infrastructure and best in class facilities. Also I considered several factors like placements, ranking, location etc. The best thing about our college is it's college life. There are more than 10 highly active clubs and various other technical societies. Textile Technology is the oldest branch of our college with a very strong alumni base in the Industry and has 3rd highest placement record. All the faculty have PhD and are highly knowledgeable. The campus is completely ragging free and seniors are very friendly and always ready to help.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is very flexible with various department and open electives to choose in the 3rd and 4th year. Also there is a minor degree program which is alloted based on the CGPA of 1st year. Students get enough industrial exposure through industrial vists, lectures from guest faculty and short term courses by industry experts under TEQUIP program. The faculty is the back bone of Textile branch. We have world renowned faculty members like Dr. J N Chakraborty who is highly regarded in the field of Textile Chemistry. He provides good practical knowledge along with theoretical concepts to keep the class engaging and lively.

Placement Experience

4.5

Overall the placements are excellent. Top MNCs like Microsoft, Amazon, Acresium, Adobe, Samsung, Optum, D.E. Shaw, Deloitte, ZS associates, Nokia, Honda.etc visit the campus regularly. The number of companies visiting has increased in the recent years. Companies like Reliance, Trident are frequent recruiters of students of Textile Technology. Profile offered to most Textile students is GET( Graduate engineer trainee) while Reliance also provides marketing profile. The Internship and placement process is taken care by the Training and Placement office.

College Events

4

The annual techno managerial fest is called Techniti and the annual cultural fest is called Utkansh. The college fests are the best time of the year. All the students get involved in various activities from organising to performing in various events. Team cultural affairs organises these fests. Various celebrities like Hardy Sandu, Candis Redding have performed in the past. Apart from this there are numerous events held in the auditorium through out the year.

Campus Life

5

The campus has one of the best infrastructure among all NITs. There are two basketball courts, cricket ground, football ground, Tennis court. Student activity center has a canteen named Snackers which provides multiple food items at affordable cost. There 4 other similar canteens. SAC also has gymnasium.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 7 boys hostels and 3 mega boys hostels. All the hostels are given wifi or Lan facility. Each hostel has TV room, Table Tennis court. MBH have lift facility as there are 7 floors. First year students are given hostel 1,2, and 5. Each room is shared by 2 students in hostel 5 and mega hostels. Hostel 1 and 2 rooms are shared by 4 members. Pre final and final year students get single rooms. Entire college is guarded by security 24*7.
