College Life

When I was in last semester of my diploma I started to search for the college in Mumbai and through some of seniors and friends I came to hear about my college Mukesh Patel of NMIMS University. That time NMIMS was a very good name and it is also a good name now and a very popular college in Mumbai and to get a admission in such a college is very difficult because of cut offs. I manage to got admission on bases of merit. For admissions in NMIMS University you need to fill a online form and after that you get selected for the process on the percentage bases and then wait for the round when your number comes and for engineering there are streams so wait for what stream u get, I was lucky enough toh get my stream that is EXTC. I choose this College because college is very reputed and also heard very good things about it.

I choosed EXTC as I have done diploma in that stream. Faculty in our college are highly educated most of them have done there PHDs and good thing is that in class they cleared the doubts and after class also they help in every manner that in project or other activities. When I joined the college in 2017 that time there was a chalk board and after that it got converted to projector or marker board. Projector was a bit problematic as while doing sums and all it was difficult for us as well as for faculty to teach us but after some time management realise and they help us with marker board + projector then it was good. About Exam there where 3 mid terms each of 15marks and from them 2 were considered and 20 marks for viva, presentation, journal submissions and lab tests. The mid terms where done after every month and term end exam after 5 to 6 months. If u score good in mid terms and internal then it was easy to pass but if not then very difficult to pass.

From last year student gets eligible for placements in campus. Companies are :- Accenture :- package 3 to 4lacs per annum TCS :- package 2.7 to 3.7 lacs per annum Capgemini:- 2.5 to 3.5 lacs Infosys :- 3.5 to 4lacs Ingram micro :- 4.5 to 5 lacs Jio :- 4 to 5 lacs Quantiphi :- 4 to 5 lacs Saffron stays :- 5 to 6 lacs 70 to 80% getting placed during placement but in 2020 due to pandemic less students have been placed. My plans after degree is to get a job in a reputed company with a good package.

Sattva festival, Taqneeq festival, intra college cross fire debate and many more. Annual festival happens in October mid and other technical festival happens every month. Books and journals are available in library you can taken it home also with issuing a library card. Sports activities we have football tournament, basketball tournament, bowling tournament and annual fest where you can participate in singing, drama, dance and many more activities. As our University was deemed University the fees structure was very high then the normal engineering colleges. Every year 15 to 20 thousand increases and in final year 20 thousand decreases. Scholarship and all was ot provided but in competition a student wins it he gets a good amount of prize money that is equivalent to fees. Financial assistance is provided for students who cannot pay at one time for them there is a option of 3+3 months. Campus placement is some what good,many companies comes but all where not related to our field some of them are financial analyst or business analyst which enginners don't preferred. Core companies are only 10 to 20 % with a decent amount of package that is 3 to 4 lacs per annum but if u preferred other then core that is analyst then u get 5 to 6 lacs per annum

Room good and meal quality awesome. Registration process is at the time of admission some rooms are available in college Vicente and if u don't like that PGs are also available near college and the food is available in college canteen for both pgs and hostel person

A personal interview with genuine talks was there but no GD.The process consists of filling the online form and if you are eligible then a personal round is there in that they check your previous marksheet, identification and all other stuffs after that they ask u some questions related to course and if u answer it properly then your are in and selected
