Good College

College management is good. It was well administered.

Entrance exam was Common Entrance Test, conducted by Government of Karnataka. I scored a ranking of 1318 among approx 80000 ranks. NIE is a very good college in my city when compared to others, and the faculty and teaching also was great (as suggested by some seniors)

No, my college don't provide internship. We have a very few companies which visits our college, and provide one for a handful number of students.

Placement opportunities are great. Our placement percentage is always above 90 for core branches. About 40 companies visits our college every year, and the packages they offer is also pretty good. I myself got an offer in my dream company Oracle. My branch achieved a 92% placement.

We have 1 college fest every year. And each branch organizes their branch fest as well. Apart from that, we have around 8-10 technical talks and technical exhibitions conducted during various times of the year. We will also hold seminars from well knows technically sound persons very often.

The fee is not at all expensive. Few branches are aided from government, which makes it easy for a middle class student to pursue his/her degree from a well known college. For us, it was only 21,000 a year, which included all kinds of fee. So the degree was completed within 1 lac, which is very cheap when compared to other colleges.

As per loans, I don't think so. Scholarships, yes they had a few. I m not really sure about them, since I never applied for any.

Sports- very good exposure. We had inter branch sports competition on almost all kind of sports, every year. We also had opportunities for some inter college events. Extra curricular, as i have said above, there is a great exposure for each one of them to make the best use of it.

I never stayed in hostel, since I stayed with my family in the same city. My friends were there though, and I have seen the condition of it. Back then during our times, it was not really that great. But now, there is a new hostel which is built, and which is way too good when compared to what we had. It' pretty good now.

Alumni network is also good and always helpful. Our faculty always maintained a track of the alumnus, and made it available for the students, should there be a need.

Exam structure is as mentioned by Vishveshwariah Technological University. Though we were an autonomous under VTU, we pretty much followed the same exam structure as prescribed by VTU. We have 3 internals per semester, and then the Final Semester End Exams at the end of semester. It was not that hectic, pretty much chilled out I would say.

Almost all the faculty members are PhD holders, or pursuing them. They are all very well qualified, and have in depth knowledge of the subjects they handle. They are also very encouraging and helpful to involve us deeper into the subjects, by making us do mini projects, apart from the last year major project.
