The Prestigious IIM Udaipur

Good: Placement opportunities, educated faculties, amazing teaching methods, and great academic rigour. Bad: roller coaster ride of learning experiences, great pressure by students to participate in cultural activities and events. Admission Criteria: Candidates qualifying for CAT cutoff will be eligible for a personal appearance (PA) where a candidate should undergo a written test and personal interview. And the overall weightage is based on the performance in these stages. I decided to pursue MBA from this institute is because it is a central institution and I felt that I could fit in the crowd of IIM Udaipur after watching the IIM Udaipur Diversity videos.

I opted for MBA at IIM-U as one of my senior who was an alumnus of IIM-U had recommended me to pursue as the quality of education at IIM-U is very good and exceptional. The institute has managed to grab its position in the top 15 management institutes in a very short period of 3 years. Also, IIM-U mainly focuses on research studies. The faculty-student ratio at IIM-U is 15:1 and their teaching method is very clear and understandable. Faculties at IIM-U thrive very hard so that the students can easily find solutions for the case studies. They are highly-qualified, well-experienced, and versatile.

A total of 77 recruiters visited IIM-U for the summer internship and 13 students were recruited to intern at international companies. Overall 283 students participated in the summer internships and major recruiters were ICICI Bank, DELL, Fin First, Indira IVF, etc.

This year, a total of 246 students were placed among which 232 students received domestic offers and 1 was offered internationally. Around 87 companies visited the IIM-U campus for recruitment. The highest CTC offered was INR 30.04 LPA, the average offered was INR 12.93 LPA. Some of the top recruiters were Aditya Birla Capital, Oyo Weddingz, Flipkart, Tata Steel, Fortigo, Hero, and Many Others. Most of the students were placed under the banking financial services, and insurance (BFSI) sector.

There's no fee hike policy at IIM-U and For MBA, the total fee structure is 1475000 lakhs. However, IIM-U offers various scholarships to deserving and meritorious students for the MBA course namely Central Sector Scholarship Scheme of Top Class Education For SC by Ministry, National Fellowship & Scholarship, Merit cum Means based scholarship, Scheme of scholarships for disabled students, Mukhya Mantri Sarvajan Uchchaa Shiksha Scheme.

The IIM-U campus is enabled with 24 hours WiFi, smart classrooms, a huge centralized library, canteen facilities, medical room equipped with medical care Instruments. Also, the institute has a consumer culture lab, a center for supply management, a center for development policy and management, and others. All the classrooms are air-conditioned. There are various clubs and committees at IIM-U namely Public Policy Group, Readers Committee, Live puppets society for dramatics, B. A. T (Bikers and Trekkers Club), Column THe Cultural Committee of IIM-U, FootworX, IRIS, Prayatna, Silvertongues IIM toastmasters club, etc.

There are singles as well as double-occupancy rooms available at IIM-U hostels. These hostels are maintained by Sarovar Hotels who does the job of cleaning, updating the menu as per the student's preference. There is a gym, separate music room, medical room, recreation room. Students can access WiFi, water purifiers, in the hostels.

Questions asked during the personal interview are usually general, based on work experience, and general awareness. I was asked questions such as 1. where do you see yourself five years down the lane? 2. What are your hobbies and interests? 3. How has your previous work experience been? 4. Why are gold prices dropping? 5. How would you rate your work experience.? Overall the PI round was Moderate.
