For the meritorious admission at IIM Amritsar for the MBA program, candidates should have secured a valid score in the CAT examination. Initially, candidates are selected based on the marks secured in the CAT examination and then the admission process consists of two stages. It includes a personal interview and shortlisting of candidates based on multiple parameters like marks in Class 10 and 12, graduation marks, and work experience. The course curriculum is designed in a way to impart foundational functional knowledge of management in the first year and offers integrative and specializations courses in the second year. The second-year students can choose the electives from specializations such as Marketing, Finance and Accounting, Information Systems and Analytics, Production and Quantitative Methods, Human Resources Management, Business Strategy, and Communication according to their preference.

Some of the top recruiters of the summer internship process are ICICI Lombard, Cipla, Landmark, Nielsen with various roles including business development, operations, and analytics, supply chain, finance, and marketing.

The total fee for the 2 year MBA program is INR 12 Lakh. This fee covers the tuition fee, books and case material, library, IT and Computer, Hostel and Electricity, Medical and Students activities. The mess and other personal expenses are not included in this fee. Financial assistance is also provided by IIM Amristar for students. Education loans are available from banks. students can apply to various major banks for education loans to cover the program fee and other expenses.

There are various committees and clubs for students at IIM Amritsar which includes academic interest groups and non-academic interest groups. The Institute also conducts various events such as Sankshetra - Operations and Strategy Conclave, Pariprekshya -Finance and Marketing Conclave and Yukti - Human Resource Conclave

IIM Amritsar provides a hostel facility to students with 2/3 BHK flats on a twin-sharing basis. Students are provided with various facilities such as a bed, study table, chair, cupboard, wifi, geyser, gym, recreation room, tv room and facilities to play various sports. The mess serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks with all types of goods including North Indian, South Indian, Chinese and Non-Veg.

There is no group discussion round. The admission process for the MBA program is divided into two stages, personal interview and shortlisting students based on multiple parameters like class 10, 12, graduation marks, quality of work experience, and score in CAT examination.
