I had given IIT JEE had an AIR of 3151 I opted for IIT Kanpur because I not only had an interest in the field materials at the time also IIT Kanpur had a rich culture which newer IIT's lacked and I did not wanted to miss on that.

IIT Kanpur is known best for its Research projects. There are numerous research projects ongoing in campus. B tech generally take part less in the research projects but that is just a vague generalization. Sophomore year has a altogether internship program for research known as SURGE. There are state of the art research facilities available.

Yes, there are various internship programs going on in the campus the list of companies is well quite long.Major companies for internship were Microsoft, Sony, Adobe, Linkdein, Shclumberger, ITC, HUL, Deuctche bank credit suise etc etc the over all stipend for an intern on an average would be Rs 30000 per month.

Placement again making a list of companies is kinda impossible as they are about 200 - 250 of which I don't also remember the names. They generally offer from around 9 to 18 lac per annum. But major companies can go higher to as much as 80 - 90 lac per annum. Bit the gross pay vary from company to company. Like for a standard 12 lac of package the gross in hand inn of 10 to 11 lac rest is all other benefits and variable pay.

Three fest in our college. First is UDGHOS- sports fest with all major sports event, second is Antaragini -cultural fest. By far in my experience the most enjoyable time of the year, third is Tech kriti- technical fest. apart from these three there are various other events that keep on going in campus like e-cells business events also there are many inter hostel events which goes onto make a general championship between all the hostels.

Fee structure is on an overall basis is quite feasible. As the amount of facilities you get is nothing compared to what they charge you. The fee structure for the newer batch has increased I guess for us it was 36000 per semester which did not included the hostel food charges.

Loan facility were available through the SBI branch on campus. I did not take any so don't have any detail idea for that. There are all sort of scholarship offered on campus for academic to sports to merit cum means.

Gender ratios were pity bad. It goes to low as 10:1 with 10 being obviously males. Diversity is maximum you can find students from all parts of nation and aborad. Extracurricular labs is massive. We had any sort of group that you can think of from anime to card and board games etc.

Hostel facilities were nice. We had all sorts of sports faculties inside the hostel apart for a reading room with books magazines and newspaper also you had a computer center and canteens in each hostel. Mess food was decent enough with no problems in terms of hygiene. The mess menu was dynamic depending upon the season and availability of veggies.

Senior students help a lot they are the ones who teach you maximum from academics to life any sort of help can be availed form them.

Labs are depending on what course you opt for. There were generally on an alternate day of week. Exams are twice in the semester apart form the surprise quizzes or home work assignments that are given to us in the course. The lab work is pity decent.

Best and Highly qualified faculty is present in the campus for any of the course that you pick. Still in my four year experience I have come across various teaching patterns from faculty of which some I enjoy and some I din't. Still you pick out any random professor and you can not judge him based on his qualification or his interest on to the subject matter.
