Remarks

Management is totally faculty dominated, their exists no student unions, their decision is final. It helps in quick and rigid implementation of policies.

Entrance Preview

Admissions are through GATT- exam conducted by Gitam Institute, and seats are given according to rank achieved in GATT examination.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is detailed and to the point as per required for an engineer. Each semester on average have 6 theory subjects and minimum of 2 labs. One have many opportunities with respect to research, many college clubs exist to help students in this matter electives vary widely from department to department- electives are only for final years choice based credit system is recently introduced.

Internships Opportunities

No, College itself doesn't provide any internship, but the students are expected to do internship at the end of 3rd year in a outside industry, related to his/her branch, college just recommends the student for that industry.

Placement Experience

5

Placement opportunities are great for a student from B.Tech stream. 30+ companies visit institute every year, placements commence from beginning of final year and packages range from 3.5Lac per annum to 18 Lac per annum major companies include, Amazon, TCS, Accenture, Wipro, Infosys, Maruti, Fiat, Hyundai, Tech Mahindra.

College Events

4

There is one fest per month on average. Famous ones include, Gusac Fest conducted by GIT, it lasts for 3 days and biggest of GITAM then every branch have its own fest for 2 days- its name varies every year as per students wish. One can be a organizer or participant in the Fests, they give invaluable experience seminars and special workshops are conducted in the fest, they help a student a lot in developing his organizational and leader ship skills.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a private institute, fee is a bit expensive, but it is worth it. Currently(2017) it is 2.20 Lac per annum, and 15 thousand is increased every year for new batches, old batches follow their initial fee structure that they paid in their first year for the facilities they provide the fee is okay.

Fees and Financial Aid

As far as I know, Union Bank of India and Indian bank offers education loans to Gitam students at moderate rates.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio varies widely from department to department-biotech have 4 girls and all are boys, mechanical have 30 boys and only one girl rest all branches have roughly 1:2, girl to boy ratio. College provides an big outdoor ground which consists of basketball, cricket and football grounds, their is a PT master available from 6 am to 6 pm and indoor stadium consists of gym, table tennis badminton and tennis court. Their is total absence of religious or caste feelings, students are informally divided on basis of first benchers and last benchers.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel is excellent, first years have different hostels than other, to protect them from ragging. Every student gets his own bed, 2 charging ports, a LAN connection, a study table and chair, a closet bathrooms may be common or suit based depending upon on hostel student chooses. Entire campus is WiFi enabled.

Alumni/Alumna

I am still a student, havent heard of any alumi yet. From seniors I have got to know that alumi meets for every 5years and they donate considerable funds to student clubs

Exam Structure

There are 3 mid exams for every subjects, out of which best 2 will be considered for finals-mid constitute of 30 marks, 10 marks for assignments and rest 60 for semester end examinations, there will be gap of 2 days for every semester exam. As for labs, it is continues evaluation process, every lab consists marks and 2 external exams, which are generally conducted at middle and end of semester.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty are well talented. In a department on average there is 1:40 teacher to student ratio, and one out of every 10 is a professor and 3 out of every 10 is associate. Faculty are strict, which a Btech student does expect, but they are known for their punctuality. Teaching occurs in English- if everyone is able to speak Telugu, it happens in Telugu.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chose mechanical (robotics). As they euipped with new equipment's of robotics I have inspired a lot and chose to go with this course. This course helps to understand the mechanical engineering an also robotics. It helps us to understand about the mechanism in hardware. It helps to understand about robot infrastructure and about drones. For this course if there is more depth in robotics subjects than it can better. The frequency and timing is good as they maintain a certain period of time gap between the exams and the difficulty level is also good. If studied for a week we can understand up to some level and have a chance to pass the exams.
