SGSITS- A paradise for an engineer

Gsits is a well esteemed college in Madhya Pradesh known for producing brilliant engineers. It provides a platform for young budding engineers to come up. One of the main reason for preferring it is that it is situated at the centre of Indore city and hence many coaching institutions are very near to it be it coaching for GATE UPSC ESE GRE etc. The admission procedure is that you have to qualify to jee mains and then apply for college during counselling on mpdte portal.

I chose electrical engineering because I want clear ESE exam in the electrical engineering field and electricity always amazed me and I find it very amusing. The faculty to student ratio is 1:20. Faculty are well qualified PhD and master degree holders from iits and nits. Some of the faculty members even go to iits for delivering lectures.Teaching is done in both ways online as well as offline. Technology is a big aspect of teaching in college. End semester exams are held every 6 months while mid semester are held after every two months.

The internship is offered to 3rd year students Microsoft and google like tech giants offer intern to the students. Deloitte is another company offering interns. The stipend can start from 5000 INR and get to as high as 75000 INR.

Students become eligible for placements from the 7th sem ie starting of the 4th year. But students have to register themselves for placement from the 6th sem itself. Various companies come to college both core and non core branches and every student can sit for any company to fulfil the criteria of 6.5 cgpa. The highest package offered is around 22 lacs per annum and the average is 6 lacs per annum. Almost 80 percent of students get placement in well known companies. I plan to crack the ESE exam after getting an electrical engineering degree.

The fees for electrical engineering is 68750 rs for two sem ie for a year. Apart from this if you opt to live in a hostel mess and hostel fees are 12000 and 10000 INR respectively for one semester. Various scholarships are given to students like this scoring above 75 percent in class 12 are given medhavi scheme according to which their whole year fees are returned apart from hostel and mess charges if they live in a hostel. Various other scholarships are given to schedule caste and scheduled tribe students.

Aayam is the annual cultural fest in college. It is a fabulous event to watch and participate in. Great singers artists and stuntman perform in the event. The college has the biggest library in Madhya Pradesh. A vast variety of books new and old versions all are available and are easy to issue them. The classroom is well built and there are smart classrooms as well. Good furniture and air ventilation are characteristics of the classroom. There are many clubs like pratibimb sparkle ojaswa etc run by students some fmof them are related to art craft, acting dancing singing and studies as well.

A hostel room is well ventilated provided with two beds two study tables two fans and two cupboards and you have to stay with a partner single rooms are not available. The quality of food in the mess is good and the menu changes every day. The menu is decided by students and the mess caretakers collectively. Along with the admission you have to apply for hostels and it is allotted on basis of merit and hostel seats have reservations of reserved category candidates as well. The hostel is very well affordable as it cost a mere 10000 and mess 12000 total 22000 INR for 6 months.
