I was aiming for IIM Trichy after my CAT results due to its curriculum and the opportunities it provides. For admission, one has to appear for the CAT entrance exam and clear the cut-off of the institute to be considered for the final selection process. CAT exam is conducted every year in the last week of November. Final Selection at IIM Trichy is one on the basis of CAT Score, Past Academic Records, GD-PI performance, Work-Experience.

PGPM is the flagship course of IIM Trichy and was my first choice due to the opportunities it has to offer after the completion. The program is divided into six terms, three terms in the first year and the remaining in the final year. Students have to choose elective courses in the final year, while the curriculum in the first year is the same for everyone. IIM Trichy also provides the option of (CIS) Course of Independent Study to the students under the supervision of faculty members.

Mostly the offers are made from the Sales & Marketing, Finance, Operations field. The average stipend for summer placement is above 80,000 INR, while the highest summer internship stipend goes up to 200,000 INR.

Students become eligible for placement from Term V. Many companies start offering job roles from the start of Term V at the institute. The average placement at IIM Kashipur is around 14 LPA and the highest placement is around 25-26 LPA. The top recruiters are from Sales & Marketing, Finance & Banking, Consulting & Analytics, and Operations. Some of the prominent recruiters at IIM Trichy are - Amazon, JP Morgan, Cognizant, KPMG, ICICI, Vivo, McKinsey, Godrej, Dabur, HDFC, Birla Estates, Tata Power.

The total fee of the PGPM program at IIM Trichy is 16.5 Lakhs INR. Out of the total fee, 30,000 INR is the caution money which is refundable at the time of leaving the institute. IIM Trichy offers scholarships to SC, ST, and students with disabilities for top-class education. The institute also offers merit cum scholarships for minority students.

The infrastructure of IIM Trichy is exemplary, classrooms and labs at the institute are interactive. There are several committees/clubs that focus on enhancing and developing the soft skills and technical skills of students. IIM Trichy has a marketing club, literature club, Matrix Club, SigmaEta Club, and ArthaNiti Club. These clubs organize various events and fests throughout an academic year.

I used to read tips from the alumni of IIM's on how to do well in GD and interviews. Preparing for the GD-PI for admission helped me do well for IIM Trichy GD-PI. IIM Trichy considers GD-PI and written test for final selection. Work experience has a 5% weightage in the final selection. While Gender Diversity and Professional qualification have 5% and 2% weightage respectively.
