Remarks

I registered for IPU firstly because it is a state govt run University and we all know how highly we think of govt run colleges and I also live in Delhi, thus eliminating the excess hostel and mess fees and travelling fees too. Saving me money yearly, I think it was a good option, and as the colleges are given rank wise, I was pretty happy with my choice as our campus infrastructure is pretty good barring AC rooms and projectors in each class (only some classes have those). The whole campus is overall really big in size and as the years progressed, we have created good bonds with our teachers, thus scoring in internals is easy here. But there are some cons too, it is next to Seelampur, the course they teach is outdated, so you have to prepare everything yourself for job application purposes, also not many core companies come into our college, so that is definitely a backdrop. The fests are also sort of lazy, but you can go to IGDTUW, which is nearby and has a really great fest each year.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum in IPU is very outdated they are still forced to teach us outdated machinery even when the new one has replaced the taught one. Also, there is a serious lack of practical knowledge in our course, i.e, there are no hands on knowledge about whatever you are studying. So you need to deviate from the topic and research some subjects deeper on your own. The faculty is really helpful as far as EEE is concerned. They are pretty chill and won't fail you unnecessarily in internals. Overall they are helpful and give you options to showcase your projects on different platforms.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement opportunities in our college are decent, there are no major companies like Google, Apple, and Amazon coming but yeah TCS, Infosys and other tech companies do come. The average package is around 4.5 lac and the maximum on-campus placement is around 7.5-8 lacs. Although some students from CSE did manage to get placement in Amazon with around 19 lacs package, it was off-campus placement. So you better upgrade yourself while completing your degree as the competition is tough not just in our college but in general.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is pretty good, but I don't think they spend it that well. They should upgrade our classes with projectors and AC but they don't. The fee hike is around 10 percent each year and financial services are also pretty hands on, you just need to meet with the director, explain to him your situation and he'll help you out. But sometimes it may not work as they might have pressure from above too. We don't get any internship offers on the campus, we search for them on various platforms like Internshala and all. Job opportunity wise, TCS and Infosys are the mass recruiters in IPU, taking almost 160-180 students, but only a handful really work there for a long time. So you better have a really good skillset and resume.

Campus Life

4.5

Seriously I forgot what they called our fest, but it is decent enough that you can bring your friends. The canteen is also pretty good and we have a Nestea stall too on our campus, so ice tea is and all is also served. Chai stall is just outside the main campus and is really good. You can find people from all walks of life on our campus, so it isn't like you'll only find geeks or cool guys. IEEE conducts its tech fest yearly, with a good prize amount. You can issue books from the library hassle-free.

Other Applied Colleges

Manipal University | CSE

It was costlier and in Jaipur

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
