JIMS Kalkaji: Insider's View

JIMS Kalkaji is a great college for pursuing BBA since it is one of the best colleges in IP University and the only college of IPU at South Delhi which provides BBA, they provide a great exposure to students with various guest lectures, presentations, group discussions, competitions and various other means. They don't just focus on the theoretical knowledge, they place a lot of emphasis on overall personality development. They have a great course structure which is in sync with today's world. But the college has its own drawbacks, since it is situated at such a posh location the college size not that great but college do organise various sports events by hiring stadiums, and college places a huge emphasis on attendance. The admission process of JIMS Kalkaji are according to IPU guidelines, after giving IPU CET exam you have to wait for counsellings to start. Various blogs on Youtube and various reviews at Collegedunia helped me in deciding that I wish to study at JIMS Kalkaji.

I chose JIMS Kalkaji because of its placements record and its rank in IPU university, they have very active placement cell and NSS cell, which organises various extra curricular activities. Faculty:student ratio of JIMS Kalkaji can be considered average but you are provided with whatsapp no., email id of all your teachers and you have access to ERP from which you can communicate with teachers. Most of the teachers at JIMS Kalkaji have completed their PHD and have a very interactive way of teaching. Since, I joined college during the pandemic, I only had options of online classes, but those classes were quite fruitful and we were taught using ppt's, case studies, discussions and lectures. The exams were conducted after full revision was completed and various past year papers were solved in our batch. Internal exams of 15 marks were comparatively easier as compared to external exams of 75 marks but all the topics that came in exam were already covered in class.

Our college offers various internships since 1st semesters, there are various on campus digital marketing internships available, the students get to create content at various social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube. Students can also opt for writing blogs and can also work at SEO. At the end of fourth semester it is compulsory for all students to undergo summer training for six to eight weeks and further prepare the reports and submit it to the college.

The placement of JIMS Kalkaji are actually very good, for the batch 2016-19 a lot of students were placed at Royal Bank of Scotland with an average package 2.16 lac per annum, highest package for the batch 2016-19 was 4.05 Lac Per Annum offered by Godrej & Boyce, the average package for 2016-19 was 2.68 Lac Per Annum. The companies where students were placed were: 1. Royal Bank of Scotland 2. Travel Triangle 3. Godrej & Boyce 4. SR Ecommerce Factory Pvt. Ltd. 5. IBM 6. Policy Bazaar 7. Amazon 8. Wipro Around 95% of students of JIMS Kalkaji get placed every year. I wish to get placed in a company in finance sector after getting my degree.

JIMS Kalkaji has comparative low fees as compared to other private universities offering same course. The last fee hike in JIMS Kalkaji fees was of Rs. 3000, due to change in IPU policy. JIMS Kalkaji doesn't offer any scholarship of its own but JIMS Kalkaji do has a seperate Scholarship Cell, which inform students regarding all new scholarship policies that either state or central government launches. JIMS Kalkaji does not provide any on campus job but it do provides an opportunity for various internships.

The annual cultural fest organised by JIMS Kalkaji are Zest & Dandia, and Rockstar Night which are organised every year during February and they also organise plethora of events such as NSS day, Swachhata Drive, Ozone Day throughout the year. JIMS Kalkaji has a huge library with availability of various books & journals on management. The campus has availability of wifi and air conditioners. Classes are equipped with projectors and there is availability of computer lab. There is a sports club at JIMS Kalkaji which hires Sri Fort Auditorium to organise all the sports events, sports available at JIMS Kalkaji are, swimming, badminton, table tennis, basketball, cricket, football and volleyball. JIMS Kalkaji has various clubs which are organised by student and are for students, some of these clubs are dance club, communication club, nss club, music club, theatre club, fashion club, placement club and rotaract club.
