IIT Kanpur is the dream college of many JEE Aspirants. Being a part of such a prestigious institution makes me proud. The college has a beautiful and large campus of 1055 acres with every facility. Just name it and it is there on our campus. The academics are very strict and it is said it IIT Kanpur is most rigorous when it comes to academics, among all the IITs. Every type of club is present. It is an ideal university. The institute takes admission in a 4 yr B.Tech/B.S program through JEE Advanced. An Undergraduate student may go for Postgraduation if he/she fulfills sufficient requirements in academics. Branch Change and Double Major is also an option.

I chose this course because I had an interest in Machines and building stuff. Also getting the course in such a great institution was an exceptional deal. The faculty: student ratio is 1:10 which is very healthy. Most faculties are Ph.D. holders with very good knowledge in their fields. Exams are held often here. IIT K follows a system of continuous evaluation in which quizzes are held at least every two weeks for each subject with Midsem and EndSem as two biggies.

Internship opportunities are shared regularly with the student community with an appreciable stipend available. There are mostly technology-related internships. But you will find your choice of internship too here.

Placements are the best in the country. The placements state is improving every year with around 85 percent of students placed on campus in 2019-20. The highest international package in 2020 was 1.47 crores (INR) and the national was 80 lacs (INR). The recruiters are way too many with some big names like Google, Microsoft, Phillips, Adobe, Qualcomm, Facebook, Reliance, Goldman Sachs, Samsung.

The fees for one semester is 1 lac + hostel and mess charges which make it account somewhat near 1.5 lac. Students with a family income of 1-5 lac per annum get a 70 percent fee discount (out of 1 lac per semester) and those with family income up to 1 lac per annum get a 100 percent fee discount (total 1 lac per semester). Besides this, there are also many scholarships available which one gets to know as he joins the institution. There are many opportunities provided by the institute too where you can earn your stipend (internships of different startups and other companies are circulated among the student community regularly).

One of the things IIT K excels is in its campus and infrastructure. It is world-class. The annual technical and entrepreneurial fest is Techkriti which is one of Asia's largest tech festivals. Antaragni is the annual cultural festival of IIT K with a footfall of 130000. The sports facilities are mind-blowing. Every kind of sports enthusiast is present on the campus and every type of equipment, courts, and what not! There are a lot of clubs in IIT K which are active in their field and always strive to put up good work.

The hostels are great. Each hostel has its own amenities like Gym, Courts, Cafes, and many more. Everything is good with the hostels. There is also inter hostel competition held among the hostels which are breathtaking.
