Remarks
My cousin also graduated from the same college so this was the main point of me pursuing a PGDM degree from lbsim. The admission process at LBSIM starts in Feb or March. It includes WAT, GD-PI. I am a PGDM finance student and this college has good placement in it. Lbsim has its own website that tells everything related to vision, mission and values. Lbsim walks on the path of late Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri ji. Mr. Anil Shastri is still a board member. He is mostly present in all the functions of LBSIM. 23rd February is the foundation day of LBSIM
Course Curriculum Overview
Lbsim has a PGDM course. So the curriculum gets updated every year. Lbsim also has research and business analytics as well as logistics and supply chain management. These courses are the need of the hour. Teachers take reviews on the curriculum from the trained faculty and corporate leaders as well as alumni. Teachers here are also well qualified. Most teachers are PHd holders. We were taught professionally even in online mode. Exams are of moderate difficulty. Students get passing marks easily but they have to work hard to be on the top list
Internships Opportunities
College does offer internship opportunities. Sic team is also of our batch that continues and becomes a place com team in the future. Stipend this year is very less and few companies are also visiting campus with zero stipends. Avg package is approx 6000. Top companies are Deloitte EY KPMG, big basket, Agarwal package and movers, Britannia. There are very less opportunity for finance students in internships
Placement Experience
There is campus placement every year. Students of our own batch are in placecom team. Though top companies visit campus this year situation is worst. Companies are not coming for placements. Few top companies came with nice profiles but the salary was still less. The highest package was 28 lakhs and avg package was 6-7 lakhs. Almost 100% of the batch gets placed except this year. Finance companies that were the reputation of college are not even visiting campus. Though the college has students of every domain and companies also visit for almost all domains. Operations, HR, marketing, finance, analytics
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of LBSIM of my time was Rs 1167000. They hike fees every year by atleast 10%. Studies here at LBSIM are a bit costly. They charge 30000 for management grid fee and 7000 as alumni fees in addition to the 12lakhs above. The hostel here in lbsim is also expensive. It is approx 13000 per month. They ask for Almost 500000Rs as the initial amount at the time of admission after your final selection. The scholarship is given to students with low family income. And everyone is eligible for live projects and internships. these can be paid or unpaid. Anyone can do internships outside or from campus.
Campus Life
There is a library in the college itself, so anyone can go anytime to read books or issue books from there. The classroom is not too big but has projectors and white board to teach. Lbsim has various clubs for extracurricular activities. There are almost 13 clubs related to acads and 4 clubs related to cultural activities. You can find almost every club on install & FB. They have a fest organized every year called tatva in which students of various top-notch colleges participate. IIMs, FMS, UBS are few of them. College provides curriculum books to every student. Students are coordinators of these clubs. They get nice exposure. The college has samarthya every year as intra college fest. This year we organised online events. Lbsim has Sparsh i.e. social initiative club and also rural immersion program. Where they help others.
Interview Experience
The topic of GD was purely related to the latest news. I don't remember much of my time but last year topics were related to Brexit, NRC, CAA. They also check the stand of the student. They try to relax students in case they are nervous. Faculties take the interview and they are mostly sweet. 60% is based on Cat score and 40% on the basis of GD PI WAT and previous marks The best way to prepare for these colleges is to read newspapers. Read it daily and follow one news inside out. Even if you don't know about one news, you can always be clear about the other.
