PARADIGM OF EXCELLENCE

St Xavier's Institute was one of my dream institutes to be in. I never saw myself in the institute back when I was in school because to be in this institute wasn't and still isn't easy. St Xavier's is a brand in itself. The faculty, the staff, academics, campus, different explicit societies, and everything about the institute is what a student can ask for. The composure one gets in here cant get anywhere else. The admission process was quite simple enough . Within a month of filling up the form, the selection dates were out. The college strictly adheres to the admission criteria. Collegedunia helped me in figuring out the colleges that I could enroll into . It provided me with apt knowledge of the campus.

Bachelors of Management Studies will be the stepping stone for me to enter into corporate world . I aspire to be in a corporate world and specifically in Management and Marketing industry . BMS will give me guide and shape me with all the basics and information one needs to know to enter into managerial world . In our university we have primarily two sections per semester and in each section there are about 70 -75 students . The teachers in here are tremendously intellectual and some of them are gold medalist in their specific genre of subject . The teaching method is student friendly and one can cope up with the pace of the subjects easily . Exams are conducted twice in one semester, one is the CIA and the other one is the end terms. If one has thoroughly pays attention to the lectures , one can score up good grades .

St Xavier's provides placement for every other course which it provides or rather which is available for the students. Starting from BA (English & economics), BCOM (Hons), BMS to Mass communication, and other UGC, Xavier's provides placement for each and every course. Companies like TATA, KPMG, AMRI, Paper True, easy diner, TOPCEM, Fitech, IBM, Brandafair, etc. Some of the post-graduate students from our university are under rigorous internship procedures from TATA, coal India limited, times of India, Balmer Lawrie, etc. Around 60% of students from our college get internships and placements under high-profile companies. I would be opting for a master's in business administration after my UGC and I'm currently planning to do Internships.

The fee is a little bit higher in comparison with other colleges but at the same time, the quality of education which is been provided that is more than satisfactory. I didn't apply for any scholarship which was available in our university but if anyone wants to apply for scholarships then he/ she can apply. St Xavier's provides three main scholarships, namely; Loyola Scholarship (100%), Britto Scholarship ( 50%), and SNEGAM scholarship for MBW students. There are various scholarships as well provided to other backward classes and minority communities.

Apart from the academics and faculty, if there's one thing the university is famous for then its the social exposure. XAVRANG is the most famous fest in the entire city and even outside of Kolkata. It is conducted by the XCMS society of St Xavier's University and College. It is usually conducted at the end of the year and many famous celebrities join in the fest. Besides XAVRANG there are other events like University sports day, carnival, university picnic, republic day celebration, independence day celebration, Easter holidays which is organized by college and university. University Library is available and quite easy to access. All varieties and genres of books are available. There are various societies in the university mainly, XCMS, XUSS, XUCAS, XIA, XUDS, etc. These societies are usually run by a student body head also known as the secretary of the society. A student would enjoy all the benefits of being exposed and with all the facilities the St Xavier's.
