A Review on IITH

I have chosen this college over others due to the following reasons: 1) This is the best among the 2nd generation IITs 2) One of My 12th class Teachers suggested this college 3) This college is also near to my hometown, compared to other choices that I have

Our college follows a system called the fractal academic system, this is very different from what other colleges follow. Each semester is divided into 3 segments. Every course will carry some credits(1, 1.5, 2, or 3) based on the contents of the course. One credit course spans for 1 segment, 1.5 credit course spans for 1.5 segments. Professor makes the decision about the exams for the course he is teaching. There can some assignments, or surprise quizzes some professors ask to give seminars also. Some professors take viva also. Exams will be very easy if we attend the classes regularly and do the assignments. All faculty have done Phd. Faculty to the student is ratio is also good.

Companies visit the campus to recruit interns for various roles at the start of the 5th semester. Job roles are like web developer, software developer, Analyst, Sales intern, ML developer, AI developer, etc. We can also do projects with faculty. We need to contact the faculty and tell them our project ideas, if the professor is interested he can accept and guide you. Most visiting companies are from software backgrounds only.

Companies come to campus in the seventh semester. Various companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Honeywell, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. recruit students for various roles. The placement percentage is more than 75. The highest salary is 60 LPA. Students from Computer science, electrical, and maths n computing will have more offers compared to other departments. I do not have any plans for higher studies, want to get a good job.

There will not be any high fluctuations in the fee. Institute offers some scholarships. Parental income should be less than eight lakhs to avail of the scholarship. We need to apply for the scholarship at the end of every semester. Institute also has a sbi branch located inside the campus. Bank gives education loans at low interest. We also have the chance to do Teaching Assistant jobs, in which we help the professor teach the course(like invigilating for exams, correcting answer sheets, etc.), depending on the length of the course, we will get paid. If we have some technical knowledge like developing apps, websites we can earn money by developing websites for various clubs on the campus.

Our college fest elan and envision is celebrated in February. It is prevalent across the state. Students from various colleges come for workshops, cultural events, hackathons, etc. The library is tiny, there is not enough space to sit and read books, but we can take books to the hostel. We need to have a library membership, which we can get by filling the form and showing our id card; the return time for a book depends on the popularity and the availability of the book. We can access various journals through the institute email id. Classrooms are excellent; all rooms have A/Cs installed. We have ground for many sports like football, cricket, volleyball, etc. The campus has TV rooms also, in which smart TVs are installed. There are many clubs on campus run by students. All clubs will conduct orientation sessions at the start of the academic year, and interested people can join. We also have a counseling club called sunshine.

Every person will be given a single room. The facilities and services provided are excellent. Every room will have a fan, bed, table, chair, and shelves to keep clothes. Every room has a high-speed LAN connection. Mess food is good. There are two caterers, and we need to choose one for every month. We also have special dinners occasionally, where food will be different from the regular menu. Hostel allocation will be done on the day of registration. If we wish to change our room, we can contact the hostel office; they will change our room.
