Remarks
The course which I wanted to choose is provided by only two colleges of Delhi University. My second preference was Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for women and I did not get admission to Shaheed Sukhdev. My admission was in the year 2018 I got a rank of 10080 apparently it was under the third admission list. I was called to visit the college for the admission process. The teachers were sitting at the table in the library and were asking students basic questions like the percentage in school and why do you want to opt for this course. We have a college website Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences the details of every event online courses additional courses fee submission and other updation are available on this website my reason for preferring this college was because of the course (BBA-FIA). This course is really helpful if you are really interested in business management or Finance. The college name is available on the DU website. And the hostel facility is also good.
Course Curriculum Overview
As I was interested in finance opted for this course BBA in financial investment analysis. The faculty of our department is really very good, very supporting. Almost every teacher is young and has completed their PhD in Finance or marketing or accounts. The relationship between the students and the faculty is very healthy because we also have mentors and the name of the mentor is available on the college website as well we could contact are mentors or any faculty as and when needed. The teaching others differ from teacher to teacher and as well as from subject two subject we do have labs for practical subjects and sometimes we study on the projector as well we get case study so that we are more clear with the subject. We have basically six semesters every six months we have an exam the level of the exam paper is medium but some papers like statistics for business, financial management, corporate finance and some more are a little more difficult.
Internships Opportunities
College does offer some internships but in my opinion, you have to search for internships on your own we have a society placement answer which will mail you regarding the internships. I had an internship but it wasn't from the college I had pursued myself I worked in the department of sales marketing and business development as an operational executive. Some of the internships are not paid they just give you experience and knowledge and summer internships like ok have stipend based on performance. According to my, the students should do an internship to learn to expand themselves so that they have a knowledge of how to work in a practical field rather than only looking for internships that provide a stipend.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placement in the third year. We have few recruiters like the bro Deloitte, planes park, I Tech E-commerce, yonity requirement, etc. The eligibility for sitting in campus placement is aggregate 50% marks and no back in any paper .the companies mostly go for students who have above 70% marks. And has taken part in different activities like sports, society or being a Council member. so that they know that apart from studies you are also involved in other activities. After my degree, I want to pursue an MBA or MS in finance most probably I will be preparing for a foreign university for that I need to give my GMAT and score an average of 600 marks.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since it's a government college the fees is very reasonable and the fees policy have different aspects like we have a scholarship program, we have women related scholarship as well so the cost of the study is good. Since the college has started this course 4 years back that is in 2017, we do not have a good campus placement as such for this particular course. And also students prefer to study further rather than for placement. We have scholarship programs like the Central sector scheme of scholarship, ICTs, NDF, CBSE merit scholarship, CRIT, ODB (OPERATION DIGITAL BOARD) and many such scholarships. We have approx 25 scholarships.
Campus Life
We have departmental fest an annual fest. In the department fest, All the departments organise that technical fest in September or October. The departmental fest of our department that is the Department of Management and Financial Studies is named IIDIARA and mostly held in October. We have the annual fest Karwaan which is held in January or February. We invite guest speakers as well as a celebrity for the star event. Recently for a dayra we had Akash Gupta the comicstaan winner, Harsh Gujral the comedian, Akhil the singer, Sejal Bhatt, kawali brothers and we also conducted it online. The books for other courses are available, but that is a bit shortage for the courses of Management the library is perfect, its 2 has floors, and the classrooms are spacious and clean. We have sports like chess, basketball, badminton, etc and we also have a gym and a ground and a badminton court. Our college has few societies like enacts which works for and with the transgenders
Hostel Facilities
In the hostel, we are provided with either 2 sharing or 3 sharing and the beds are separated it's not attached. We have 4 floors. The hostel has a separate bathroom and washroom we have both Indian and western washrooms. The total capacity is around 100 to 120 students. Every floor has one microwave induction and washing machine the end timing to enter the hostel is 6:30 in the evening and the morning time is is 6:30 am. The meal quality is fine and the menu is average. The selection for a hostel is done based on the distance and priority is given to the first years if the seat is available then the seat is offered to the second and third years. Rs10000 is for the security deposit which is refunded after one year. We do have a party and DJ in a hostel in the evening with the permission of the warden. In my second year, I had taken PG for one month because I was unable to get a hostel and experiencing my pg life in my point of view hostel is much better than pg and also you can visit or stay at your local guardian.
