Remarks

Let's first talk about the Good aspects of MLSU. College is well known among locals, it is one of the 4 govt. universities in Rajasthan. More than 100 small colleges are affiliated with universities. So in short, you will have an upper hand when applying for local jobs. If we talk about Campus, it's neither filthy nor heaven. The permanent faculty is decent. On-campus canteens and nearby shops are pretty good. talking about the city, Udaipur is a damn good place. You will never run out of new places within a 3-year course. Now the Bad aspects. Being a Govt. University the worst thing I felt here is Student unions and political influences. They are annoying, make sure to avoid them. Most of the faculty is non-permanent, so don't get surprised if one subject is taught by more than 2 teachers, sometimes 3 xd. The admission process is pretty simple.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I am pursuing BCA (Semester Based). It is a 6 semester based on a 3-year timeline. Since it's a professional course, there is a decent uniform code too. I chose this course cause I am not just passionate about computers but obsessed with them. I love coding and solving problems with codes. Faculty: The student ratio never exceeded more than 60 in my experience here. My course strength is was 180 in 1st semester so they divided it into 3 batches A, B, C. A consists of Students with no maths in their 11th and 12th. B was mixed and C was for students who pass maths in 11th ad 12th standard. Permanent faculty is well qualified but has ego-friendly behaviors, whereas non-permanent faculty is more friendly and open-minded but lacks teaching experience. Exam dates are unpredictable, Messy, and always get rescheduled ( due to student unions). Passing the exam is not difficult at all. If you have attended 75% of your classes, you don't have to read any single word to get 70% in exams.

Placement Experience

1.5

I don't know about campus recruitment tbh, I am still in my final year. But I have talked about it with my seniors. The story is a bit bitter. Companies joining in recruitment are almost none, and those who join have no industrial growth. So if you expecting a job through campus recruitment, drop it, fella. If we talk fair, BCA is a bachelor's degree, and you cant expect a high pay job anywhere in India. But still, if you wanna earn some bucks, you can apply for local IT companies with a decent pay of 10000-12000 per month. My pane after BCA is to get some industry experience through 2 3 internships (of about 3 to 4 months) and then I will go for my master's (probably MCA, M.Sc AI, or M.Sc in Data Science.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee Hierarchy is simple there are 6 seems, the yearly fee is Rs. 30000. Other than it you need to pay an examination form before every semester of Rs. 4000. So the structure is (Everything is approx for BCA) Fee (3 years) 30,000x3 = 90,000 Exam Form 4,000x6 = 24,000 Total: Rs 1,14,000 I don't know about any scholarships, but ya there are many scholarships to redeem since it's a govt. university. You can always visit the main office on the campus for a detailed inquiry. Scholarships generally include: * Merit students * Mental or physically challenged students. * Students with State or Nation or Internation Sports certificate * Students from Special Backward Communities. * Others. I will suggest you, contact the university for authentic and detailed information. There's no on-campus job available here.

Campus Life

3

You will be attending the following fests/events : (* represents subjective events based on your departments) 1 Fresher Party* 2 Annual University Fest. 3 Science/ Arts/ Commerce college Separate fest* 4 other small fests. 5 Tour (Nothing fixed about this though) Central Library is heaven (In science college), in my department (Vigyan Bhawan) the library is settled in a freakin bathroom (Which was never used ) Books are almost none and no sitting arrangement for reading it. Fingerprint attendance, A/C (for summer), Fanes, good lights, big rooms, projectors, ok furniture. Computers are as fast as a snail, Electricity cuts off frequently in summer especially, and it takes 1 to 2 mins for the generator to come into action. Volleyball was available for us, but you can join a variety of sports at the university level. No Clubs, no students' websites.

Other Applied Colleges

Amity University, Noida | BCA

I got selected in counselling but I did not continued due to accomodation problems.

By 5th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Some of the common requiters in BCA programs include companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys and local IT firms. Highest placement package usually arround 5 to 7 LPA while the avg package is between 2.5-4.5 LPA. Approx 50 to 70 percent student gets good placement opportunities. After completing my BCA degree, I plan to persur MCA to improve my technical knowledge and enhance my career oportunities in the IT field.
