Remarks

St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Kolkata is one of the best and top 10 colleges in India offering quality education to all. The college is known for its Commerce Stream education. I choose to attend this college since it is the best institute which can lead to the total growth of my personality because it is an institute of repute, with a brand name, successful alumni; which itself acts as a motivation to be a part of it. The admission process to the college was quite easy and simple as every detail regarding the admission was available on the website and it was very convenient. The dates regarding the admission process commence from one week after the declaration of Board Results. I would prefer this institute to my juniors as they could benefit a lot from this college, the exposure and opportunities it provides and also the placement that one gets are great. Top-notch companies come to St. Xavier's College for qualified candidates providing students with a wonderful experience.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I choose this course because since I loved Accountancy and Mathematics and B.Com. (Hons) was a perfect course option for me. Also since I wish to pursue MBA in future in the field of Finance, therefore opting for this course would be very beneficial for me. The faculty: student ratio is sufficient and efficient as we have different sections and in each section, for every subject we have 3 to 4 teachers always there to clear the doubts of students and always ready to help the students in whatever way possible. The faculty is highly qualified and experienced and have been in this profession of teaching for a very long time and the teaching method opted by the faculty is great. They use different interactive and student-friendly methods of teaching. There are a total of 6 semesters and for each Semester we have Internal Assessments which are held 1 month before the semester exams so that the students are in touch with the syllabus. Also the pattern and difficulty level is moderate.

Placement Experience

5

The students of Semester 5 and 6 are eligible for Campus Placements. The companies visited are. ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Deloitte, TCS, Infosys, Google, Larsen n Turbo and many more. The percentage of students getting placements is 90%. My plans after getting the degree are being placed in a top-notch company and aside that I can prepare for my MBA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college are paid quarterly. The admission fees for this course is Rs.15,000 and later on, during the semesters we have to pay a quarter feed of Rs.11,500. The fees of my department are partially helped by the Government. The cost to study is very affordable although students can reduce such costs by getting through different Scholarships.

Campus Life

5

There are different Societies in college and every society has its own fest. Although the annual fest of the college is XAVOSTAV and it is conducted in the month of February. The College has a very modern and advanced library were there books and computers available for the students. The Library contains books of different famous personalities and of subjects as well. The college has social groups like NSS which is run by the college.

Other Applied Colleges

CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru | Bachelor of Commerce [B.Com.] {Hons.}

On clearing the entrance exam, I was given a different campus which I was not interested in taking as I preferred Bengaluru Campus.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
