Remarks
Admission was based on marks percentage of 10th and 12th. I had applied for admission to SRM in June 2020. I choose this college because it was near to my location (transport facility) and was recommended by my relative studying there. Overall, I am currently satisfied with the services offered in college. I had also read collage reviews on reputed review sites like collagedunia.com.
Course Curriculum Overview
Due to increasing job opportunities in CSE, I took the CSE branch. There are 67 students in my class and 8 teachers in my batch. The faculty members are very knowledgeable and helpful. There are 5 class test, 1 modal practical exam, and 1-semester exam in each semester. It is easy to pass if you have studied a bit. There is also an additional fee of Rs.3200 every semester for the examination fee.
Internships Opportunities
Companies such as TCS, Wipro, and Infosys offer internships from 6th+ semester students. The top roles offered are assistant software developer, software manager, etc. Various projects are given by the college to make students prepared for internships. Internships are based on CGPA, projects, tasks, and interviews were taken by these companies. There are only limited seats available for internships.
Placement Experience
Students from the sixth semester onwards are eligible to attend campus placements. In the year 2019, more than 75% of students got placement. The top recruiting companies are Tata Consultancy Limited (majority placements) , L & T Limited, Wipro Ltd., Infosys Ltd., etc. . The highest package offered is up to 33 lakhs, the average package offered was in a range of 7-9 lakhs, the lowest package was 3 lakhs.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am not aware of the fee hike policy. There are scholarships provided in college by which limited students can study abroad. Jobs which are provided in campus selection are asst. Manager, Software developer, etc. Fees to be paid in each semester is 1.05 Lakhs excluding hostel fee and transport fee which has to be paid at the beginning of each semester.
Campus Life
Life at the campus is very cool. The classrooms provided with AC and have enough spacing. There is a library on the campus where students can sit and read or lend books for free which is very helpful. Nearly all outdoor sports facilities are provided such as a Football field, basketball and badminton court. There are also many labs for many subjects with enough accessories. There are many students club and students can join more than one club.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel room size is average students can choose whether they want to stay alone (higher cost) or with 2-3 follow mates for a low cost. There is 2 separate hostel for boys and girls. Hostel students are provided with breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner (both veg and non-veg). The quality of food is pretty average. I am in a hostel shared room and it's quite affordable for me. The hostel and campus are within walking distance.
