Remarks

I chose the college because it was among the top 30 to 40 medical colleges in the nation for consecutive 3 years. Also, I am a resident of Bihar so vicinity was also the criteria. Also, the college campus is huge and the college also earned massive achievements in only 10 years of its opening. I had a known senior studying in this college in the same Curriculum so she also suggested me to join the college. I got admission in the college through NEET UG Examination which is organised in the whole nation and is the sole entrance exam to take admissions in government, private and deemed medical colleges. The exam usually occurs in May. Then for about 1 month counselling process occurs that is conducted on the MCC website and according to students rank and their preferred filled choices colleges are allotted online. Now speaking of the good aspects of KIMS is that the hospital is really huge with a bed capacity of 2300 and there is a lot of patient inflow which can be seen from the OPD round

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I chose the course because I want to a doctor and serve needy people since my childhood. The white apron and stethoscope fascinate me each time I go to a hospital. The faculty student ratio here ranges from 1:10 to 1:15 from department to department. Some departments such as general medicine and surgery have a large number of faculties. while smaller departments such as psychiatry and anaesthesia have a smaller number of faculties. The faculties here at Kims is awesome. The teaching manner is also too good. they focus on giving clinical knowledge more than bookish knowledge. They teach in the wards, OPDs and in classrooms. Some teachers prefer the traditional method of blackboard teaching while some prefer teachings from slides and PowerPoint. But the goal and effort remain the same. We have to give regular part completion tests and that is decided by the hod of respective dept. We have 2 semester exams in one year and 1 professional exam which if we pass get promoted to next academic year.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The students after reading for 4 and half years get to do their internships. one can opt internship from the same college or a different college. But the difference is that if you do the internship from your college you will get an internship stipend which you will not get if you will do an internship from other colleges. The student is around Rs 25000 per month which is subject to change. In this 1 year of internship, the student gets duties in different departments of the college.

Placement Experience

4.5

I am from the medical branch and we are not having something called placements in engineering colleges. The senior students who have completed their mbbs from Kims are getting a monthly salary of around Rs 70000 to 110000 depending on their working states. The college itself gives job to their own students. The interns get an amount of around Rs 25000 per month.

Fees and Financial Aid

Everyone knows Doing Mbbs from a private or deemed medical colleges is very costly as per annual college fee ranges from 13 lakhs to even 25 lakhs and more which is very difficult to pay and so below average and middle class families withdraw their hands. But you can take a student loan and achieve your dreams of becoming a doctor as you can repay it after earning. Some colleges provide scholarship to the top 3 meritorious students of the college and some take the economic status of the family as the criteria. My college gives Rs 50000 to 3rd rank holder, Rs 75000 to 2nd rank holder and Rs 100000 to 1st rank holder.

Campus Life

4

The campus life here at KIMS is good as the college organises two fests annually. One at the college level and the second at the university level where different singers and music stars perform. The fest at the college level includes sports, drama, quizzes and dance and music also. Besides these many sports activities are functional in the college almost 1 sport activity occurs every 2 months organised by the senior batches. The library includes all the standard Indian and foreign writer books as well as international journals and literature. It is a 3 floored library. The ground floor has a large reading room, the 2nd floor has a librarian chamber and xerox point and the top floor is a book issuing section. The classroom is large enough to include 250 to 300 students at a time. It is a smart classroom which many LCDs and screens. Every academic year has a WhatsApp group where every class information is exchanged.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

There are 5 to 6 hostels for boys and girl students. Each hostel has a capacity of residing more than 150 students. The hostel rooms are 2 bedded rooms with attached bathroom and ac. Regular clean up of the room is dined by the sweepers. The room also has 2 reading tables and 2 wardrobes each for 1 student. The size of the room is sufficiently large. The food at the mess is average. Some day you will get amazing quality of foods and someday it's not eatable at all. You have to apply for hostels at the time of admission and pay the amount at that time only.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is well organized by the authorities based on the latest medical aspect of our society. Practical classes and regular postings in hospital helps in better understanding. Being the only hospital in nearby cities, our hospital provides us a good exposure to varity of cases. Our Associate proff and HODs also look upto them and help us gain more real world experience. The best aspect of this field or if I have to say Why have I chose it is to serve the society. Absence of well qualified doc at the times of emergency is one of the leading causes of mortality in developing countried like India. Being in this profession, I just want to help people around me.
