MBA at IIM Nagpur

Nagpur is the geographical origin of the country the and that's why IIM Nagpur has a great location advantage. Adding to that Mihan is developing an industrial area where the new permanent campus is located. The admission process involves qualifying CAT followed by GD/PI. IIM Nagpur is doing extremely well among the newest generation of IIMs and everything else appeared to be fitting my criterion for selecting a business school.

IIM Ahmedabad mentored IIM Nagpur in its initial days and its effect is visible in the course curriculum. The student and Faculty ratio is good with a great balance among in-house and visiting faculty. Most faculties have done their Ph.Ds from IIM A, B, and C and from other renowned institutes abroad. Term schedules are followed sacrosanctly and a relative grading system is followed.

IIM Nagpur achieved 100% summer placement in the month of February 2021 itself for the batch of 2020-22. The average and median package for the batch stood close to Rs. 60000. Companies from across diverse domains visited the campus offering summer internship opportunities for the students.

The Average and median package of final placement for the 2019-21 batch was more than 13 Lakhs. The placement process begins in the 4th term and goes till the beginning of term 6. Companies from many different sectors visited the institute for recruiting students; Bain, L&T, BNY Mellon, Tata Power, TVS, ZS, Accenture, and Deloitte, etc. were among the some of the recruiters. IIM Nagpur was the fourth IIM to complete its final placements for the batch of 2019-21 and I also intend to be part of the campus placement process.

The fee is almost Rs.14,00, 000, and it wasn't hiked at the time of my admission. IIM Nagpur offers many need-based and merit-based scholarships. I was offered a 50% scholarship because of the financial inability of my family.

There many academic and cultural fests organized throughout the year by clubs and committees. Class and libraries have adequate facilities that business school students require. The new campus has enough infrastructure available for all sorts of indoor and outdoor games and sports. Institute has several academics and non-academic clubs, SIGs, and committees like HR, Finance, Operations, Analytics, and data science, Cultural and movie society, etc.

Every student their own room equipped with a bed, almirah, table, fan, etc. The mess is maintained by an external vendor and is coordinated by the student-run Mess Committee. The mess fee is reasonable and the food quality is also awesome. The registration process is smooth and the hostel is quite affordable. It's a residential program and staying outside the campus is not allowed.

In the GD and PI, you are expected to have holistic knowledge apart from your domain of education and work. At the time of the interview, one can expect questions on the reason behind leaving the job or the motivation behind pursuing MBA.
