Experience at FORE

One of the reasons for choosing this college over others was the brand value. Overall the opportunities are decent in a number of domains, location is good as it is located in the heart of Delhi, the average placement is decent with a package of 10.8L and it also provides a decent exposure. Faculty is experienced with more than 70 percent of the faculty have corporate experience and most of the faculty have a doctoral degree from reputed institutes. The admission process was very smooth, the CAT exam was followed by a Business awareness quiz, written ability test, extempore and a personal interview. For the process, a number of dates were given to book a slot.

The course curriculum is in line with the industry standards and the faculty is very experienced with more than 70 percent of them having corporate experience. Most of them have a doctoral degree from a reputed institution. The teaching method is based on a case discussion basis and the faculty is always there to help. I chose PGDM over PGDM (Finance) and PGDM (IB) because PGDM allows choosing two specializations after completing the first term while in the case of PGDM (Finance) and PGDM (IB), one specialization is fixed and the other specialization has to be chosen. FORE offers dual specialization, there is no concept of major and minor.

The companies that come for offering internships are a good combination of well-established companies and startups offering diverse roles. The maximum opportunities are marketing specifically with a good number of roles. There are also a good number of roles in HR and finance as well with finance having a number of investment banking, accounting, and financial sales roles. Also, decent stipends are offered but also there are few startups that offer a bit low stipends as well but some of those roles are very good.

The college provides a number of opportunities in different domains and also a number of roles across finance, marketing, operations, HR, IB, etc. The college maintains a 100 percent placement record, although in general the top students get placed initially and these are very good roles. The highest package was of 30L and the average was 10.6L while the median was 10.1L CTC. The maximum number of students get placed in BFSI and IT/ITES. The highest package of 30L was for a role in IT/ITES while the lowest was for finance of 11L.

There is a number of scholarships offered and it is divided across different courses with having a maximum number of scholarships. The current fee is 1500000, there is generally a fee hike every year. The college maintains a 100 percent placement record and even for an internship there were a number of companies that came to campus with a number of roles

One of the best things about FORE is that there are a number of committees for different purposes which give students an opportunity to do something over and above the curriculum and it tests the time management skills. These committees help in the holistic development of an individual and give you something to add to your CV. There are a number of competitions, fest and events that take place, classes are very well equipped with a number of facilities for the comfort of students and for providing a better learning experience. The college has a library which has a huge number of books for different purposes.

At FORE, there was no group discussion. After clearing the cut-off in CAT, I had to appear for a Business Awareness quiz followed by a Written Ability Test, Extempore where we had to speak one minute on a topic, I had to speak on the Budget and then an interview. I had been reading newspapers and had downloaded apps for preparation which helped me in rounds. Interview questions were more based on academics and current affairs. So, one has to prepare for the graduation subjects and also be aware of the happenings.
