Remarks
The growth trajectory of IIM Nagpur has been exponential. The NIRF ranking of the college is 40. The admission process is smooth, transparent and hassle-free. It usually starts in the month of February and gets completed by June. The process consists of shortlisting candidates based on cat score cutoff, filling up the form and getting a call for a Personal Interview. Based on the composite score a final shortlist of students is announced. Being located in the centre of India, Nagpur has its geographic advantage and the new campus is based in MIHAN which is a Special Economic Zone having a number of industries around it.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course consists of 6 trimesters including a summer internship as well as an International Immersion program. Each trimester consists of 6 subjects. The subjects are compulsory in the first year but in the second year, there are options to choose the subjects based on the specialization one wants to pursue. The faculties are very knowledgeable and have a lot of experience. Most of the faculties have pursued their PhD from IIM A, B & C and from foreign universities. In a trimester, midterm and end-term are taken having a gap of one month between them. Exams are of moderate difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
This year 100% of students got placed for a summer internship and the average stipend offered was Rs 60,953. Companies that recruited this year were BNY Mellon, Doha Bank, Dalmia Bharat, V-guard, Philips Carbon Black, SIDBI, Hindustan Petroleum, L&T Infotech and others.
Placement Experience
The placements are quite good at IIM Nagpur. Top companies from all major domains recruit students from the campus. The average salary this year stood at 13.21 lakhs and at a time when the pandemic situation was prevailing during the placement season. This year 100% placements were achieved for the outgoing batch.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total fee of the course is 13,50,000 which has to be paid before the beginning of every trimester. Banks provide students with the opportunity of education loans with low-interest rates and no collateral (eg. SBI).
Campus Life
Unfortunately due to the pandemic, I was not able to go to the campus and experience life there. But yes as told by my seniors and friends, we have all the essential amenities that one student requires on the campus.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels are having spacious rooms and each student is allotted a separate room. The rooms are fully furnished. The mess food is also great at the campus and care is taken for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians.
