Entrance Preview
I did not appear for any kind of entrance examination, as I already knew that I want to enroll in this course.I already had this subject called "Mass Media" in my school so it was quite clear in my mind that I have to continue with this stream only. The only entrance exam I appeared for was of the St. Xavier's College, Mumbai and for that I guess I scored around 68-69% out of 100%.
Course Curriculum Overview
Since Bachelor of Mass Media is a media based course, and at present is one of the sought after media program. It provides the students with a perfect platform to showcase their projects, presentations and performances and simultaneously develop their talents. It gives us a chance to apply our analytical skills as well along with the theory part. We study, History, Economics, Media studies, Management and what not.
Internships Opportunities
I don't really know if Mithibai provides internship opportunities officially at-least I haven't witnessed any such fair. But students are often helped by the professors to get some good internship opportunities.
Placement Experience
Mithibai has a placement cell but I don't have enough knowledge about it so I can not comment on this aspect. Though I think students passed out from Mithibai get good job opportunities with handsome packages.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is very flexible. Out of all expenses that occur while living in Mumbai, university fees is the minim-est of all. I don't have the exact figures but every year it increases by 1k and currently in second year it is something around 15,800. Cost of studying here is cheapest as compared to other colleges in different parts of the country.
Campus Life
Talking about gender ratio, in arts stream it is like 5:1, female and male respectively. Workshops are often conducted with speakers such as industry experts and specialists. Mithibai has mixed crowd but majority of the crowd belongs to Gujarati community due to 50% quota reserved for Gujaratis.
Exam Structure
Since exams are mostly conducted within a span of 10 days it is quite hectic for students. But college gives preparatory leaves for about 10 days which is sufficient enough to prepare well. We get 75 marks exam paper and 25 marks for internal assignment which could be anything a play, a movie, a presentation, an artwork anything.
Faculty
The best part of Mithibai is its faculty. Our course coordinator and Assistant Professor Ms. Deeksha Chamola has done MA in Advertising and Public Relations, MA in Mass Communication, Bachelor Journalism and Mass Communication, NET and is currently Pursuing PhD. in Journalism and Mass Communication.
