Remarks
The admission process was a rigorous one, it had different levels which includes- Written ability test, General and business knowledge test, Impromptu speech, Personal Interview, Positives. Overall, the teachers are good, some teachers are exceptionally good while some teachers are decent. The crowd has a balance of experienced and non-experienced ones, this balance provides different perspective while discussions. There are several seminars in the college that are not compulsory and students can choose to join according to their interests. The placements of the colleges are decent with an average package of 10.6 lakhs per annum with a high number of students of 420. The highest package was around 30 lakhs per annum which some experiences people can expect. Negatives- The campus is very small as compared to another baby IIMs. The students to teachers ratio are 60:1 which is high as compared to other colleges. The timetable set for students is very complex for 420 students.
Course Curriculum Overview
Advantages- the course curriculum is perfect for especially International Business students. There is also an exclusive course on Geopolitics which is not taught in most of the colleges in India. The curriculum is also very practical, the examination is also based on actual business cases which gives a hang of future businesses problem. The college follows a trimester system and has a midterm and end-term exam for each term. The exams could be passed easily but it requires a better understanding of subjects. Disadvantages- there are some young faculties who are not very experienced and could do better.
Internships Opportunities
The internship roles are there but very fewer opportunities for the paid ones. The big companies take only two-three students and the rest of the students get unpaid jobs in startups where they can learn a lot but not earn much.
Placement Experience
For first-year students, summer placements start from the second term. All the students are placed for the summers but many students get unpaid internships. The average package of finals is 10.6 lakhs and the highest is 30 lakhs. All the students get placements but many students get jobs in startups and small companies. The package is high but the companies are not very big. Some lucky students also bags a very high package in the big companies also.
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides financial assistance to some students who qualify for specific income criteria. The students who are exceptional in their studies and can avail the of scholarships. The topper of each class also gets a scholarship of 1 lakhs.
Campus Life
Advantage- the college has a lot of clubs and committees, all the students get a chance to go for the selection process of the clubs and committees. There is also an option of registering a new committee, if it seems to be a good option then the management will approve that. Also, there is a lot of interaction between the students. There are 420 students and different subject which students are allowed to choose according to their interest. Technically there will be different students and different batches for each subject. Disadvantage - the campus is very small, the sports activity is technically outsourced. If you want to play something then you have to go to a different ground.
Interview Experience
The GD was not included in the process, but the interview was very smooth. For me there was no cold questioning, the panel was listening to my answers and asked the questions from my statements. The extempore was also easy- the topic was "Online education- a boon or bane". The preparation for the process for me was normal, I personally didn't prepare something specific. I have a habit of reading newspapers and that was enough for me.
