Remarks
Good aspect- good final placement companies; top final placement companies include Deloitte, EY, Asian Paints, Capgemini, KPMG, Tata Steel, etc. Brand Name. Almost everyone (who applies) gets the Summer Internship whether in a good company or in an early startup. Bad Aspect- Campus: Although due to covid-19, a batch of 2020-22 has still not got the opportunity to attend classes from campus, however, from seniors' reviews, we found that campus is not very big and the hostel is not available in the campus. ROI: Not a very good Return on Investment. Admission Process- First of all, there was a Written Ability Test (WAT) which included 10-15 Multiple Choice Questions related to Current Affairs and a topic on which we had to write 100-120 words. My topic was "Social Media boon or bane for youth". The process took around 15-20 minutes. It was followed by an Interview (approx. 2 hours process). Reason- Best college in 82-86 range of percentile. Blog- Siksha, Collegedunia.
Course Curriculum Overview
There were three courses options for me, which are- PGDM, CAT cut-off: 86+ percentile PGDM-International Business (IB) CAT cut-off: 79+. PGDM-Finance Management (FM). CAT cut-off: 75+. I chose this course because I had two options to opt: PGDM-IB and PGDM-FM, of which I was not interested in Finance and was left with IB. FORE also provide International Immersion Program (IIP) where we visit Singapore for 1-2 weeks for a course. Faculty Student Ratio- 60:1. Qualification of faculty and Review- most of the faculties are passed from prestigious institutes like IIMs, IIFT, ISB, etc. The teaching method of many of the faculties is good, however, we have faced some basic problems in online classes. Exams- We have 6 terms with a term almost per 3 months, which means we have Midterms and End terms at the gap of approx. 1.5 months. We have a total of 12 exams to attempt. Passing the exams is not a very difficult task, especially when you have to give them from home.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities in FORE are pretty decent. At least everyone gets an internship offer either with a thick stipend or a basic one. There are many domains like Sales, Marketing, HR, Finance etc. where students can seek internship opportunities with a vast variety of job roles and profiles like Strategic Consultant, Business Development, Research intern, Retail Business, etc.
Placement Experience
From 1st semester only, students start to become eligible for campus placements in Summer internships. The placement process starts from September-October. The companies visit the campus and recruit the students. Top companies for Final Placement for 2019-2021 batch are- KPMG (20 selections), ICICI Bank (20 selections), Capgemini (8 selections), Wipro (7 selections), Volvo Eicher (3 selections), TATA Power (3 selections), Dell Technologies (2 selections), Tech Mahindra (11 selections), and many more. The lowest package offered- Rs. 4 Lakhs Highest package offered (for 2018-2020 batch)- Rs. 30 Lakhs, 95% of students got placed with an average package of Rs. 10 Lakhs. My plan is to get placed in a well known Tech company from campus.
Fees and Financial Aid
Cost to study: INR 14,98,000. The institute mentioned that due to persistent covid-19 situations, they have provided leverage of Rs. 1,00,000 i.e. from Rs. 15,98,000 to 14,98,000 in the total fees of the Institute. Return on Investment is not very satisfactory. Scholarships and financial assistance- for an aggregate family income of Rs. 3 lakhs per annum, a scholarship of 100% tuition fee waiver is provided to those students. For aggregate family income of Rs. 3.01 lakhs - Rs. 5 Lakhs, scholarship of 50% tuition fee waiver is provided, for an aggregate family income of Rs. 5.01 Lakhs - Rs. 8 Lakhs, scholarship of 25% tuition fee waiver is provided. Jobs Stipend- jobs with a minimum salary of Rs. 4 Lakhs per annum to Rs. 30 Lakhs per annum are offered by the institute.
Campus Life
To be honest, as I previously mentioned, we (batch of 2020-22) have not yet got the opportunity to attend classes from campus due to the covid-19 pandemic, so we don't have experienced life at campus. FORE has a variety of committees (21-22 to be precise) ranging from Corporate Interaction to personality enhancement to social responsibility to sports and cultural activities. They organize events and competitions every month on average and they are so helpful for the students as they get real-life experience by participating in them. Some of the committees are- Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED), Personality Enhancement Cell (PEC). Talking about the Annual fest, FORE conducts "Genesis" which includes all kind of events like Business competitions, Technical Competitions, etc. There are also fun events like dance, music competitions. Genesis also includes star nights where celebrities are invited to perform. That is the most fun part of the hectic and busy schedule of MBA life.
Interview Experience
There was a Written Ability Test (WAT) process followed by an Interview. WAT process included 10-15 General Awareness and Current Affair questions which were of easy to medium level difficulty. It also included a topic on which we had to write 2-3 paragraphs in around 120 words. My topic for paragraph writing was "Is social media boon or bane for youth?". The process was of around 20 minutes. After that, there was an Interview round having three panellists. They conducted an extempore round first, for which my topic was "Cryptocurrency". After that, they asked me about my background and asked questions related to that. At last, they asked 3 reasons why one should not join FORE. I read the newspaper and current affairs to prepare for admissions.
