FORE A HIDDEN GEM

The college has a very good learning environment, the professors and faculty of the college are very helpful and they have provided good assistance not only academically but also provided me with very good career advice. They have provided me with immense support while a selection of specialisations and electives. The college is small in size and does not have a hostel on the campus and no place for outdoor sports but still helps a person in their overall development. Remember my admission process was very smooth. The Admission process first includes registration of the interested candidates in different courses offered by FORE School of Management and then students were shortlisted on the bases of percentile in CAT, followed by a written test, business quiz and finally a personal interview and the admission process begin in February. I had offers from colleges of the same tier but I came to FORE because it's near to my home. TIME website, Collegedunia & Shiksha.com websites helped me a lot.

I chose this course because it provides an opportunity to study dual specialisation and opportunities provided in terms of live project, summer internship and Final Placement is immense. The teacher to student ratio in the college is 1:10 and the faculty manage the students quite well. The teachers are very qualified and they PhD in different areas and have expertise in the subject they teach there also visiting faculties that teach in IIM's also. The faculties at FORE use case studies to teach the students and give real-life examples to give the student by linking the knowledge with the real world. The academic calendar for the full year is given at the beginning of the year where all the important dates are mentioned, when will classes begin, when the term exams will be held. The term exams are scheduled with regular intervals and the difficulty level is to pass as the whole course is application-based and knowledge is required to be applied in a real-life scenario.

There are a lot of companies that offer a summer internship to the students of the college to name a few are GEP, ITC, Asian Paints, Nestle, Gartner, Exim Bank, Origin, United Biscuits, Decathalon, Dukes etc they have offered roles like sales intern, investment banking intern, Marketing Intern, and many more. The projects offered by the company vary year to year and is based on the goals that the company wants to achieve. The tasks assigned to the individuals are dependents on projects given by the company to them. The highest stipend offered to the students was 1 Lakh per month this year.

The placements of the college are the same as those offered by colleges in tier 2. Opportunities provided by the college are really good various top-level companies come to the college for hiring students through campus placement from different specialisation which provides students with a great start for there career. Also, these companies come to select students for summer internship opportunities. Top companies like Amazon, ITC, ICICI, Gartner and various others come to the campus for placement and made an offer to students. The average package offered was 10.8 LPA last year. Around more than 100 to150 companies visited last year and the college recorded 100% placement last year. The highest package was 31 LPA last year. from sem 4 students become eligible for campus placement once they are done with their summer internship.

The cost of the course in FORE is quite high but they also provide a 1-week summer immersion programme to the batch and the cost of which is include in it and due to the COVID-19 scenario the college has reduced 1 Lakh from the fees and also provided physical books to all the students. FORE also provided scholarship to students with a good academic record in the course and also to students from weaker section of society. The college provides the students with a huge amount of opportunity in terms of final placements and summer internship opportunity.

Due to COVID -19, we have not visited the college yet and have no idea about some of the things like amenities in the classroom and about the infrastructure. But have a good idea about the clubs and committees in the college there are a huge number of committees and 2 or 3 being added every year. There are a placement team, sports and cultural team, some clubs looking after social welfare some clubs looking after the environment. There is a literary club and there are 8 special interest group focusing on different subjects like finance, marketing, operations and many more. Talking about the library all the books related to the subject were provided to each and every student from the library even during these circumstances. The name of the annual fest is Genesis and it is conducted by the Nexus club and during this fest, a lot of activities are conducted including case studies and quizzes and a variety of competitions conducted by different committees.

So firstly the process started with a business quiz and a written ability test where a topic was given on the sheet and we have to write on that topic. questions in business quiz mainly consisted of general awareness and current affair questions. Then a presentation was shown by students of the college which consisted of about the college, placement report, courses offered and activities done in the college. Then it was followed by a personal interview in which we have to give an extempore of 1 min on a topic given by the panellists and then the interviewer asked routine questions that told me about yourself and various other things and about the things I did in my graduation and some of the questions were around academics. After all the rounds were done we were told by the seniors that we were done for the day. I gave a couple of mock interviews at TIME institute for preparing for the round and for other rounds I read the newspaper and latest news for the business quiz.
