About NIT Trichy

NIT Trichy is one of the best colleges in India and ranks first among all other NITs. The overall experience studying in the Department of Management Studies, NIT Trichy, is highly satisfying. Although, one major negative aspect of NIT Trichy is that the summers are extremely hot, and the institute doesn't have any cooling facility for hostels. Coming to the admission process, the applicants will be shortlisted based on CAT scores. Usually, the shortlisted candidates are invited to attend GD/WAT & PI but due to the pandemic, the institute has changed the process. Now candidates are shortlisted and offered admission based on their overall CAT scores, 10th percentage, 12th percentage, and graduation percentage. People with work experience also get an additional advantage.

In the Department of Management Studies, NIT Trichy, faculties are knowledgeable and with updated skill-sets. They usually try to make the class more interactive and encourages students to ask questions during live sessions. The faculties of each domain are well experienced and highly qualified. One of the major drawbacks of DoMS NITT is that the institute does not offer any majors or/and minors in its course curriculum. It basically offers a General MBA.

The overall recruitment scenario is very good. The placement process usually starts in August or September. Almost a full batch gets placed every year and the average package varies from 6.2 to 6.8 LPA with the highest package of 12.5 LPA.

It is highly feasible with a greater return on investment. The total fee structure for two years is approximately 4-4.5 lakhs (incl. Hostel and Mess charges). Fees are paid in the semester pattern, i.e., twice a year. An education loan can be easily availed from banks present inside the campus. Students can also apply for a loan through the Vidya Lakshmi portal. NIT Trichy offers many merit-based scholarships.

Due to the pandemic, my batch still did not get the chance to experience campus life yet. Although our seniors and local students give positive reviews about life inside the campus. The college has one common library for all departments and a designated library for the Department of Management Studies. Wifi connection is available within the campus, but the speed sometimes fluctuates. It has a gym with all the latest equipment.
