Remarks

KJ Somaiya is one of the best institutes in India. The faculty is very helpful. The building is very modern. It offers many specializations- Few of them have 120, 240, 60 and 30 seats. I preferred this college due to its location.

Course Curriculum Overview

The exams are held every timely-a midterm and an end-term exam is held in each term. The exams are held on a trimester basis. The student-faculty ratio is good making the pedagogy very inclusive (20:1). The faculty has got a doctoral degree-the entire of it. I chose PGDM and not a particular specialization as I was inclined towards general management.

Course Fees: INR 16 per year

Internships Opportunities

140 recruiters participated in the process. The highest stipend offered is Rs 1.45 lakhs per month. The average stipend is around Rs 18,700 per month. The recruiters include Bisleri, ITC, Accenture, LG, DCB Bank, Bloomberg, Foodpanda, Google etc.

Placement Experience

170 recruiters participate in the process. 99% of the students get placed. The average package offered is Rs.10.05 lakhs CTC. The highest package offered is Rs. 27.05 lakhs CTC. The majority of students (31%) students are placed in the banking sector. Major recruiters include Asian Paints, ET, Croda, HUL, Grofers, PwC, Puma, Book my show etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are around Rs 16.89 lakhs. The average stipend offered Rs 18,700. Scholarships are offered on basis of merit cum means basis. The fees are subject to increase and decrease and are completely at the discretion of the management.

Campus Life

Students have access to the library and also e-resources. Classroom sessions consist of an analysis of various case studies from several Ivy League colleges. There are many student councils and committees- Marketing Club, Consulting Club, Finance Club, Cultural Club etc. The campus is entirely wi-fi enabled.

My SBS Journey

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

Not a dream college but a real one

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

from 2 sem you get to apply from interships and from 5th sem for placements ,i applied for only company which was tiaa one of the most biggest mnc in india who is direct compitator of jp morgan , i got a package of 6 lacks ctc per anum but the highest package was 12 lacks , the college has a policy that all student gets placed no students are left behind

Promising campus with room for better faculty.

Placement Experience:

After sem 4 we get final placement companies in the campus there are total 200 plus companies come to the campus till september to november almost 35 companies already come to the campus. The companies are ICICI, HDFC, RISHAB WORLD, INSYNC, DENSTU, ITC, BHARAT ELECTRONICS, CORDELIA CRUISE, MORNING STAR, NOMURA, NYKA, NAUKRI.COM. the highest package was given by a company name bharat electronics for HR specialization is 12 lakhs per annum. Almost in my time there 35percent get placed. I plan after degree is first 3-5 yrs in corporate lufe then after own business.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.

No such bad remarks though. As the college is very superior and one can take admission with complete ease as the college faculty, staff, workers are very helpful and there motive is very clear and remarkable. This college surely helps students in grooming and enhancing skill to the top. THE TRUTH ABOUT KJ SOMAYA

I applied for feweer Colleges but not in Mumbai this was the only college i applied in Mumbai outside Mumbai i applied in Chennai Delhi Bhopal etc but as my parents suggested not to go far away and stay here I got approval too from many of them but when they saw I got approval in kj they said it's nice get this college u can stay here , addmission process is like hetciccccc like I have no words it soo bad , 70% I might say to be eligible cutoff for these exams are not that much so you can be chill bro...Read More

I did apply for just one more college for safety as I was very sure of getting admission in KJ. I had heard a lot about KJ's HM so dreamt of it. I availed Gujarati quota for admission. The selection criterion includes cut-off cleared scores of CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ NMAT/ GMAT, a GD-PI round, past academic records and work experience if any. For CAT and XAT, the cut-off is usually 80-85%ile; for GMAT, the cut-off is 550-600 and for CMAT it is 85-90%ile. The group discussion is case-based.
