Remarks
Admission to the institute is taken through all India exams (JEE). The counselling for admission begins in June. I have an interest in chemistry so I got biotechnology at Sikkim and this is the place very close to nature that I can say by being there for 4 years. The only bad thing is the weather is too cold and it's a 3 place in India to receive the highest average annual rainfall.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was designed by professors from IIT KGP and IITD so it was just aligned with the GATE exam and by completing the course curriculum anyone can surely able to perform well in GATE. The faculty: student ratio was 7:5. The highest qualification of a professor is a postdoc and all are well renowned in their domain. The exams were very timely and it's very easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
To bag an internship depend on students how hard they try and how good their contacts with professors, not major companies coming for interns. The stipend that usually got is 20,000/month and few of my batchmates good intern as some got in GSoC.
Placement Experience
After the sixth-semester students are eligible to apply and the companies that major comping is Intel, Powergrid, Bosch, LT, Abbott. The seventy percent from my batch has gone a job. I opted for higher studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
Nowadays, they offer on the basis of the economy for general category students also and the students from reserved category and other backward class received a scholarship during my stay. The campus job is pretty awesome and being in biotechnology I want to go for higher studies so I haven't sat for campus placements.
Campus Life
There are two fests in college, Abhiyatran is a technical fest that happens in the month of September, and a college cultural fest (Udgam) which happened in April. The sports facilities at the campus were restricted due to the temporary campus. The culture of extracurricular activities was awesome.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels were pretty good and We got all the basic amenities that are needed for students to live a good life. We have a geyser in each room and we also had an attached bathroom. The room is shared by two students.
Interview Experience
The only written test is JEE. I did coaching for preparation and it was my second attempt in which I got admission. The preparation was kind of going through the previous year college paper and having a clear understanding of the basic PCM concept up to 12 levels.
