Detailed review of Mighty MIT

MIT is the Institute of eminence. It provides a wide choice of courses. Various Student projects, technical clubs and nontechnical clubs are there. Infrastructure is one of the best in the country. Exposure is also the main factor as you learn to live with students from all over the world. Fees is at a higher point. Admission is through the MET exam and is held in April every year but it is delayed due to covid 19. MIT is a great college if you want to live 4 years to your fullest. Academics with other activities make it as a perfect choice. Student projects give a great hands-on experience on vehicles, mars rover, satellite, rockets etc. TMR, FM , MRM are few names of student projects. Technical clubs are in large number such as ISA, SAE, IE Mechanical, ASME, etc. other clubs and society includes dance group which is among top hip hop groups in India, various music, drama,art clubs are also there. NGO's are also there which are run by college students. While selecting college i asked my seniors.

The course curriculum is up to date with the current needs of the industry and keeps on updating from time to time. Mechanical faculty is one of the best in the country. Faculty of other departments are also experienced and holds phd degree. The student and faculty ratio is fine currently i do not have much information as i am in my 1st year only. Most of the faculty holds a doctoral degree and the teaching method is good for some teachers as they write on board to explain but some just use slides to teach. Term exams are on time and internal exams keep ongoing every month. If students pays attention in class and study well then it is easy to pass.

Around 1:37 companies came for internship opportunities wearing from Amazon,Bosch, KP morgan .phillips Oyo Oracle Morgan Stanley, Wipro, Samsung, Dell ,Goldman Sachs ,Honeywell ,Cisco. Most of the companies offered to step into students about maximum was 1 lakh.

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for placement. On average 250 recruiting teams visit every year. A maximum of 43.31lpa package was offered and the minimum was 3.30 lpa. Avg was 7.50 lpa. The median salary was 6.20 LPA. 300+ students have internship offers and some were converted to full-time offers. Around 65 percent of students are placed and the maximum number of students went for higher education. Some branches have a very low placement rate. My plan is to go abroad for further studies.

Fees for total btech is around 16-17 lakhs depending on branch taken by the student. For the hostel, the minimum is 4 lakhs for 4 years including mess charges. The scholarship is given according to rank and also according to financial condition. Under 1000 rank in MET Scholarship is given and salary under 8 lakhs are given financial aid. The fee is 16-17 lakhs. Fees is hiked about 10 percent every year. Freeship, Scholar and achiever Scholarship, AICTE tuition fee waiver, Merit scholarship for konkani speaking students, Merit scholarship for children of Manipal alumni. These are for MIT other scholarships are also provided but that is for other colleges under MAHE not MIT.

Campus life is awesome. Campus spread in 188 acres of land in udupi district. Students from all over the country come to study and also international students come to study. Udupi has various beaches for students, clubs for parties. The annual fest of MIT is REVEALS which is held in March every year and the technical fest is Techthatva which usually held in October. MIT has a multi-story building having almost all books important for engineering and journals are in large quantity. Wifi is provided in the library with centralized ac. Separate floor for group study. Ac classroom is there with projector and board. The seating facilities is excellent. Various sports facilities are provided free of cost in the MIT campus. MAHE has marena as a sports center for which students need to pay 14K for a year for membership. Student projects, technical clubs, and other extracurricular clubs. Student project includes TMR, FM, MRM, MOTO MANIPAL, UAV, etc. Technical societies such as ISA, SAE, IEEE, IE MECHANICAL, ASME.

Hostel prices depend on occupancy and AC facility and also on the block. Newer blocks have good facilities compared to old ones. Bed with mattress, almirah, chair, the table is provided to every student with attached bathroom. Cleaning is done every alternate day. The meal is better than most of the colleges. The 4-time meal is given and the menu is changed every week with special lunch once in a month. Registration is done online for hostel and is quite expensive but prices are compensated by the facilities provided.
