Remarks

The good aspects of the institute include its location-Mumbai, the Industrial Hub of our nation. Another great aspect includes its supremely excellent faculty as well as peers you'll get to interact with. There are many students with International level achievements and also the subject area wise, they are very diverse. We had engineers, doctors, hotel management students, psychology, and foreign language graduates in our class. This leaves ample space for inclusive, outside-the-class learning. The admission process includes GD and a PI round. Other parameters are taken into account past academic records, work experience, outstanding achievements, and obviously the scores of CAT/ XAT/ GMAT/ CMAT.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The exams are timely held however, they got revised thrice. The professors include a pool of PhD scholars, industry experts, guest faculty, and consultants. The student-faculty ratio is 22:1. I chose the course due to my interest my export procedures, international business management, and international marketing. The overall result is finalized on basis of performance in exams, assignments, and presentations.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internships are offered in Banking & Insurance, FMCG, Retail, IT & Consulting, Manufacturing & FMCG, Financial Services, and e-commerce. 100% of students get placed. 172 recruiters participated in the process. Key recruiters include Accenture, TCS, Design Box, Cummins, Bisleri, Software One, GEP, Nestle, Grofers, Bajaj Alliance, etc. The average stipend is around Rs 14,500 and the highest stipend is around Rs1.43 lakhs.

Placement Experience

4

Students appear for the final placement process from Term 5 onwards. 170 companies visited the campus with an additional 35 new recruiters. The highest offered package was Rs25.89 lakhs in the manufacturing sector. The average placements stand somewhere around Rs10 lakhs. Most of the students are placed in Banking and financial services sector. 99.92% of students got placed. The companies visited included Deutsche Bank, LG, Edelweiss, Ernst & Young, HUL, Accenture, Croda, Airtel, Amazon, Mercedes- Benz, EY, Britannia, Ogilvy & Mather, etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The annual fees stand at Rs8.39,494. The cost of study goes up to Rs.17.5 lakhs as Mumbai is a bit expensive to live city. Loans can be obtained for the full amount and even more depending on need. The rate of interest ranges from 8-13% depending on the bank we choose. The moratorium period starts from the end of the two-year course and is usually 2 years. As per my experience, the loans are not difficult to settle as the placements are decent. Scholarships available are- SIMR Scholarships, merit-based, need-based, research fellowship, subject-based, and KISCE scholarship.100% of students get internships.

Campus Life

5

The students have access to the library, e-books, journals, case studies, and live databases. The classrooms are high-tech supported. There are several committees and clubs- Student Council, Toastmaster Club, Alumni committee, Sports committee, Enactus Somaiya social cell, etc. The fests held Confluence, Elaan-e-Yudh, Stratinova, SGMC, Anveshan, Samavesh, Kurukshetra, Spriha, National Retail Club, etc.

Interview Experience

4.5

The topic of my GD was 'National anthem in Cinema'. The nature of GD was case-based. There were 12 candidates in my batch. I took my GD-PI round in Delhi. Post an introductory video were called for our process in batches. Each batch consisted of 10 students. The duration of GD was 10 minutes with an additional 1 minute offered to each candidate to summarize. The PI included questions-Why international business, trade wars, the effect of trade wars on firms and export-impost procedures, Why MBA, why not MTech, and GDP of India. It was conversational and the duration was 15-18 minutes.

Placement Experience:

During my time the first company that visited our organization was Naukri.com, and feel proud to say that i got placed in the same organization. I am very happy with my placement. But talking about my peers. Number of companies who visited to our institute was compared to low as per our expectations. Majority of the companies who visited the institute were sales based organizations. Very less companies for finance and HR field. This made a difficult call for students.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

To be honest there are placements but the placements are like no one want to be there it is just something unacceptable for the HR students . The promises the long talks are all false and they doesn't focus on students future and career rather they care for just attendance

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
