Remarks
The brand name of IIM Jammu was the biggest motivator for me to choose to attend this college. The location too is suitable along with the placement scenario. I discussed it with my coaching institute's mentor before finalizing it, also I searched various websites for the same. The admission process started in February and included steps like the Entrance exam, WAT, and PI. Then the final results were announced and I was informed about my shortlisting in the month of June.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is well-curated and suitable for an MBA student to be industry-ready after 2 years. I always wanted to join the corporate world and so I went for an MBA course. Faculty is good here, to grab more knowledge (beyond books) you need to take efforts yourself. The faculty is well qualified with almost every one of them having a Ph.D. degree from prominent institutes like IIMs and IITs.
Internships Opportunities
There are various brands that come to the campus for an internship like TATA, AMUL, DUKES, ADITYA BIRLA, PARLE, GAMASEC, etc. for various domains from marketing to finance and they all offered decent stipend per month. Giving a great learning opportunity and also providing a chance to students to glance into the corporate work culture, these internships are really helpful.
Placement Experience
Students need to have a Summer Internship Placement after the 1st year of their MBA and then final placements after the 2nd year of the course i.e. after completion of the course. And placements are decent here. We get top brands as well as start-ups offering high to low stipend and CTC.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is well into the limits with special financial assistance to those in need. There are various state and central scholarships available for the meritorious and needy students and the institute takes well care of it that students receive the true benefit of such schemes.
Campus Life
Life at IIM Jammu is the best part of being its student. From numerous clubs to all major committees, all work really hard to hone the skills of students to make them future-ready. Other amenities like classrooms, wi-fi facilities, sports equipment are also up to the mark.
Hostel Facilities
We all have to stay in hostel only, pg or other facility is not in the option. And staying at a hostel with all others is another great experience you'll get here. The rooms are on a double-sharing basis. These are not much spacious but suitable to live in. Neat and clean corridors, washing machines, and dryer facilities are also available. It's hard that any student will face any issue in staying here.
Interview Experience
In the admission process, we had WAT and PI after the entrance exam i.e., CAT. WAT was on a topic rotating around poverty in India and PI included questions mostly from my undergraduate subjects. So, overall the process was well formulated suitable to the purpose to access the suitable students for admitting into the institute.
