Entrance Preview
Certificate in Computing was the exam I took and scored 85% and I also had Bachelor of Computer Science Degree which was the per-requisite for the MCA in IGNOU. I had to opt for this college because I was poor and had to work in the daytime and attend the classes in the evening.
Course Curriculum Overview
All the course material were send to home (Hard copy) well on time before the start of every new semester. The materials were really good and crisp. No question banks were provided by the University. We had to depend on the external vendors for it. For few subjects University sent us the well known books in place of their own study material.
Internships Opportunities
No that is the darkest spot in our college. In spite of having great environment for study the college authorities failed to bring any company for the internship, In fact it was not in the plan of the college. So after getting the degree we all had to work really hard to catch a job to start the earning.
Placement Experience
The placement and job opportunities were totally absent. IGNOU is such a big and well established organization yet they do not have a placement cell to at least help the outgoing students to appear for the interviews. The attitude of the college was totally reverse when we compare it with the teaching days.
College Events
This is another drawback. We had a huge number of students in the class but we did not have the same bondage.Not a singel event was ever celebrated during the entire stay of 3 years in the course. During the festival sometimes some students used to bring sweets and they distributed among the close friends so from the college level it was nothing.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was 46000 in 2003 and now it is 54000 which comes to 9000 per semester. The fees includes the cost of the study material and the postage fees. It also includes the labs handling charges. I would say that the fees is too good and affordable for most of the students in India
Fees and Financial Aid
yes lot of indian banks like SBI,PNP,HDFC and ICICI had a tieup with the college authorities to get the education loans for the students. Since a large section of the student was coming from the weaker section , this was a great help for the students.
Campus Life
The life of the campus was great. The facilities were too great. The lab and class rooms were very good and spacious. The huge number of students still could be accommodate easily. The gender ration was 60-40 , male-female. No extracurricular activities were ever a part of our college life.
Hostel Facilities
College did not provide any official hostel for the students hence the quality of the food is out of question. A huge number of outstation students were present and had to depend on the private facilities. The number of students were so large that a hostel from the college would have been a great help.
Exam Structure
Yes we had extensive labs and theory classes. The facilities were excellent. We had 7 days class including the labs and theory classes. In case we needed more labs for a particular subject, we used to get it very easily.The lab attendants were also very helpful and learned. I used the lab facilities 100 %
Faculty
The faculty of most of the subjects were very good. All were very learned and used to teach us with great interest. Some of the subject like Operating System were taught by dean of Ambedkar University. The quality of teaching was too good. In general all the faculties used to take personal interest. The environment was great for learning.
