Remarks
LISAA has been a branch of the French institute, which enables them to incorporate the LISAA curriculum along with the BCU. Having the French and Indian system together is really helpful as it’s a good blend of theory and practical. The college can improve on the management and also the very limited student exchange programs which are for very very few students but we were told it’s for all. Students who get it have a very good experience. Admissions are easy with a LISAA CAT entrance that sees how we will be able to cope up with the subjects and it starts by December every year. You could call or mail them for the exact procedure. I prefer this as the learning is really good with good faculty and the practical work that helps us stand well in the industry. Google, Collegedunia, Siksha, etc helped me learn and give me a good idea of this college.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course as I was interested in it since I was in 7th. I have always been into creating and making spaces look interesting thus I wanted to make my passion into my career. Faculty: students ratio 1:22. LISAA has a good set of experienced teachers but some are still not really good. The teaching system is managed well by most teachers. The French faculty is really good along with Ms Manika who is excellent at teaching with good experience and knowledge. Before every sem exam, we have 3 internals for all subjects. Students who are regular can easily do very well.
Placement Experience
3rd and 4th-year students are eligible for internships/ placements. Companies like Purvankara, Live space, Centrix, home lane, etc came in. There were good companies but only a few students get internships or placements and the college doesn’t promise a job for all. The package isn’t much as it’s just mainly internships. 10% get interested in 3rd year and 40% in 4th. I want to work with a good company for 1 year and then freelance before I can open my firm.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees are 3,00,000 which is quite high when compared to other colleges in Bangalore. There is a 50,000 refundable deposit as well. This cost doesn’t include stationary, etc so the yearly cost comes up to 4 lakhs. But the course fees is still okay as they don’t only give you a degree in interior but also an international diploma in interior and product design. Scholarships are not really there but there are good companies like Purvankara, micro labs, etc who offer jobs here.
Campus Life
We have open days every year, along with that cultural day, freshers day, fashion shows that we can be part of, Bangalore fashion week set designing etc, we also have festivals like Onam, Christmas, etc celebrated. There is a library with books related to our course but it is limited. The classrooms are good with a/c, clean and good furniture. There are good studio classrooms too, mac lab, PC lab, sewing labs, etc. The canteen is also good. We have sports day every year, student exchange, etc. There is a student union too, but not sure how efficient it is, as has not been of use to me. They do have counsellors too.
