Remarks
Good aspects: Coding culture is great. If you want to be a software engineer and your mains rank is around 20k-35k. This is the best college. You have many opportunities to cherish your talent in the field of coding. And yes, most importantly the fest. LNMIIT conducts 3 fests, i.e, Plinth (technical fest), Desportivos (Sports fest), Vivacity (cultural fest). Bad aspects: You have worked very very hard to achieve good grades. The campus is not so big as other NITs(as it's an IT college). Professors don't give grades and made it very difficult to pass.
Course Curriculum Overview
Because I love machine learning, computer networking, and cybersecurity. Which overall put me to a conclusion to opt for the CSE branch. I want to know more about the analogy of the human brain and a computer, I always wanted to design my own brain, how it works, how it stores. As per my branch, the faculty-student ratio must be 1:20, as there 4 main teachers for any subject. But it differs from subject to subject. Many faculties are PHD from IIT or from foreign universities. But all the faculties who are teaching us have done PHD. Some teachers have not done PHD from IIT but from any NIT. And below NIT there are none. Quizzes are taken 2-3 weeks before mid-term and end term. If you have a semester of 3 months, after 1.5 months midterm will be there, so professors will take quizzes before it and the same for before the end of term. Quizzes are not too hard to pass, but mid-term and end-term are very hard.
Internships Opportunities
College provides on-campus as well as off-campus internships, the college recommends us some internships. Amazon took 7 students from our college for its summer internship, and 2-3 students were qualified for GSoC (Google Summer of Code). And some internships were offered by other companies like knowledge solution India. In which I have completed my internship but it was paid. But for 3rd-year students, companies with stipend hire them for internships.
Placement Experience
From the 6th semester (after the 3rd year), you are eligible for placements. Microsoft, Adobe, Amazon, Flipkart, Capgemini, Ola, Oyo, and many other companies visit. As per the latest the year 2016 batch, 93% of students were placed, the highest package was 72 lakh and the average package was 12.5 lakh. My plan is to crack on-campus placements. And then work in a stable company. Also if you are in your 3rd or 2nd year, some companies visit and offer internship programs to the students.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees according to me are high since my 3 semesters are online, also they are taking 150k, earlier it was 200k when we studied offline. They increase their fees year by year. 10k is added in a year. You don't need to put much effort into doing the course from any other website like Coursera, college material is enough, so what you are paying for you are getting it. I am not having any scholarship right now, but if your rank in JEE advance is under 10k, then 25k will be deducted from college fees. Also if you score 9+ CGPA, you will be given 25k from the institute, as you know, it's very very hard
Campus Life
There are 3 fests, Plinth, Desportivos, and Vivacity, and they are, technical, sports, and culture fest respectively. They are conducted from mid-January to starting of February. Library of college is very large, you can find many books including your syllabus books also, there are many e-books provides by the library. Classrooms are designed in slope and having chairs with a hand table attached. Also, each classroom has its own projector. Also for attendance, there is a fingerprint system (biometric). For sports, there is a football ground, cricket ground, basketball court, Badminton court, Squash court, Gym, TT table, and volleyball. In extracurricular activities, you have many cultural clubs like music club, art club, literary committee, media cell, drama club, nukkad club, photography club, dance club, a social work club, and Festival club. These clubs organize events weekly so that you can enjoy and learn more things.
Hostel Facilities
Only 2 students can be there in a room (for 1st and 2nd year) and single room for 3rd and 4h year, in a room you are given a big cupboard, a table, a Pin-up display board, a 3 6 bed, and a dustbin. The meal is very good, sometimes it feels like you are eating in a restaurant. Breakfast is fairly good, lund is moderate and dinner is very good. On Saturday and Sunday, any special dish like chole bhature or paneer is made. In breakfast, you get an omelet for nonvegetarian and bread, milk, paratha, dhokla, noodles, and many more. In lunch, it's rice, roti, and any sabzi. In snacks, you get a burger or any other item and In dinner, a good sabji with a desert is there. After your registration for college is done, you have to go to hostel registration at that time only, mentors will guide you. You have to reach the hostel main entrance, where they allocate rooms and partners for a Student. No, you have to be in hostel.
